I'll be posting IMO what Sixer was the player of the game for all of the Sixers games starting now. Feel free to chip in also. The more the merrier. First game is tonight against Sacarmento. I'll edit this post with it.
That?s a pretty good idea you should ask in the admin drop off box, or simple ask Avery to pin this thread for you. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting phiLA:</div><div class="quote_post">my guess....allen iverson?</div> You going out on a limb there aren't you? lol just playing. Honestly though AI is not always he was not the MVP Sunday when we beat the Wolves, and sometimes Webber has big games.
AI? Yeah... right. The player of the game today was... *drumroll* Lee Nailon! Oh wait, he's in jail. Yeah, it was Allen.
@ January 24th 2005 Sixers win 109-103 Philadelphia 76ers Player of the Game Allen Iverson 41 Points, 6 Assist, 4 Rebounds, 16-31 FG, 8-8 FT, 1 Steal, 3 Turnovers Iverson was amazing shooting the ball tonight. He was dead eye at the line and shooting over 50% from the field. Although Iveson played poor defense on Bibby, the other key players were shut down such as Brad Miller and the Sixers got the W most importantly. Btw I used someones graphis hope thats alright with them. Thanks
yeah, thats ok. graphics are there for everyone to use i believe. anyways, good job. i think this should be stickied.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting phiLA:</div><div class="quote_post">yeah, thats ok. graphics are there for everyone to use i believe. anyways, good job. i think this should be stickied.</div> I can't seem to find those graphics.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting BigMo763:</div><div class="quote_post">Allen didn't guard Bibby for the majority of the game... it was Salmons or Barnes.</div> I only watched the 4th quarter of the game because I was watching the Miami-Grizzlies game with my limited Free Leage Pass, but from what I saw Iverson was on him the majority of the time. Prior to the 4th you may be right. Something tells me IVersons gonna do it again tonight.
Mike Bibby happened to set a Kings franchise high in the 2nd half of the game too btw with 34 Points. I know Iverson was on him at least half of the time.
AI, Barnes or Salmons. It didn't matter. When a guy like Bibby is in the zone he is very hard to stop. Not to mention he was coming off of a lot of screens which got him open looks. And it doesn't hurt that he is one of the best in the league when coming off of screens. Him and Rip are a headache. But what I also noticed is that when they put Andre on him in the final minutes Bibby only went 1-4 and had a turnover due to Dre's quick hands. So basically we slowed him down when we needed to. That's all that matters and it's good knowing we have a guy who can do that type of thing.
@ January 26th 2005 Magic win 119-115(OT) Philadelphia 76ers Player of the Game Chris Webber 32 Points, 13-22 FG, 4-4 FT, 11 Rebounds, 4 Steals, 1 Block, 1 TO Webber was amazing for the Sixers. Not only was he shooting incredibly from the field (even had a couple of Threes) he came up with some huge defensive plays in the final minutes of the game. I think he is who got the Sixers to OverTime IMO. That 3 Point play was amazing. Webber almost made up for Iversons poor shooting, but it wasnt enough to get the win. Sorry this was late.
@ January 28th 2006 Sixers Win 91-76 Philadelphia 76ers Player of the Game John Salmons 18 Points. 5-11 FG, 7-7 FT, 9 Rebounds, 7 Assist, 2 Steals, 2 Blocks, 4 TO I was stuck deciding between John Salmons and Chris Webber, but I went with Johnny because Webber was shooting poorly and Joh nSalmons had a terrrific all around game filling up that stat sheet. Good job by the whole team though dominating a division rival without Allen Iverson.
Johnny did his thing. He was great. Gave Marbury a hard time while taking advantage of Marbury on offense by posting him up and scoring on him with ease.
it seems like johnny has really become the player we all hoped him to be, a contributor. i just hope that he continues to play this well when AI comes back. if so, he will definetly be a canidate for MIP.

Add in the defense that Dalembert provides and Green, considering we resign him, and our future looks bright. I cannot wait to see what this team will look like when Green returns. Hopefully we will resign him I have heard rumors, today actually, that he will be back by late February, and although the 76ers are expected to resign him other teams will make a run at him.
John needs the ball in his hands to be effective, and unfortunately for him Allen is 100x better than him at that. As for Willie, knowing him I'm 99% sure he'll accept our offer. We were the only team that gave him a shot, and from what I've heard since the injury he has no intentions of signing anywhere other than Philadelphia.
@ January 29th 2005 Sixers Win 89-81 Philadelphia 76ers Player of the Game Sammy Dalembert 15 Points, 6-8 FG, 3-4 FT, 8 Rebounds, 4 Blocks, 1 Steal, 4 Fouls The player of the game could be up in debate, but I feel it was Sammy who pulled out the win for us. He had about 3 blocks in the final minutes of the game and I think those defensive plays sealed the game for us. Webber also did a nice job directing the offense and Salmons chipped in greatly as well. Sammy also ended up with 4 fouls which isn't spectacular, but it certainly is better than his usual of ending up with 5 or 6.
