<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"We still have a long way to go and I think we?re still working towards that," Cheeks said Monday after practice at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. "I think we focused so much on the offensive end when I first got here. We talked about Allen (Iverson) and Chris (Webber) playing together, and I think we focused so much on our offensive intention that we probably neglected certain areas of our defense.

"We?ve gotten down to explaining more on the defensive end, paying a little bit more attention to defense, rebounding. All those things come into play. It?s not just one guy that helps your defense. It?s a collection of guys that have to do it, and I think our attention to detail has been a lot better."

It also didn?t hurt that Memphis and Minnesota aren?t high-powered offensive teams. The Grizzlies average just 90.10 points a game, the Timberwolves 91.73.

Sacramento, which comes into the Wachovia Center tonight (7 p.m., CSN), is slightly better offensively, averaging 98.87 points a contest. The Kings are 17-23 and have lost their last two games. </div>

John Salmons defense has been stellar since he was name a starter. He has really helped to turn that starting lineup around, and make them more defensive minded. Not only has Salmons been impressive, but Dalembert has improved his game tremendously, thanks to Moses Malone working with him, he has managed to adjust his timing, and rotate quicker, while staying out of foul trouble. He is averaging 12 and 11 in the month of January. Accompany all those variables with the mediocre teams we have been playing lately, and will play until the end of the week, and we are set to make a run possibly ending the month four games over five hundred.
