<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Chris Mihm's new year has been more than happy, with his alma mater beating USC in the Rose Bowl and a personal scoring streak that, though not Kobe Bryant's, makes him the only other Laker to reach double figures each of the last seven games. "He's been playing really well," Laker Coach Phil Jackson said. "He holds the post, does some things on the exterior. It's important for us. He's probably our third-most-steady scorer in his ability to score double figures." Mihm, averaging 11.9 points since Jan. 11, has increased his productivity by developing a left-handed jump hook to go with a right-handed hook he has had since his days at Texas. "One of my goals for this season and especially the second half of the season is being a consistent presence for this team," Mihm said. "I want to be in double-digit scoring, find a way to do that, whether it's getting offensive putbacks, whatever I need to do to try and stay up in that range. I want to get it where I'm up there with a double-double almost every night." Mihm is averaging 10.3 points and 6.6 rebounds this season.</div> Source I remember PJax made similar comments to Caron Butler, right before they traded him.
I agree. His dunks are monster, he is shooting well and being a presence on both offense and defense. What I especially like about him is that he can put up that hook shot really well and that he's not a bad blocker too.

Kwame really sees himself as a face up player, so he hasn't come to me very often for advice. But with Chris, it's not really about the mechanics. He's got all the mechanics down. He just didn't know how to use his talents as a big man. All of his coaches, and Chris has been coached (this way), they figured someone his size with guard skills is going to be great. Consequently, he's trying to use guard skills in a place where they're not effective. He's always trying to get the ball through the defense close to the basket and he gets stripped a lot. He gets his shot blocked because he's playing the game at the wrong level. Once I got him thinking about playing the game (up high), where seven footers have their advantage, he's picking it a step up now. He's shooting his hook shot now. He's got confidence. He's shooting it right and left handed. He's presenting a much greater problem for the defenses by drawing the attention that he does. He's helping the other guys out on the perimeter. </div> Here were some comments from Kareem Abdul Jabbar on what he's been teaching Chris Mihm. He also talks about his work with Bynum and points out Andrew's strengths and weaknesses. Source
Mihm has played well latetly, Ive noticed him becoming more of a presence on the Defensive end, getting some nice blocks. I noticed his hook shot too, I like his progress.
Does anyone know how long Mihm's contract is for? I think he's really been contributing a lot to the Lakers lately.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting jessica:</div><div class="quote_post">Does anyone know how long Mihm's contract is for? I think he's really been contributing a lot to the Lakers lately.</div> He has two years left on his current deal. I'm almost positive the Lakers will extend him though.
