<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Associated Press PHOENIX -- The Phoenix Suns gave up a second-round draft pick to acquire 7-footer Nikoloz Tskitishvili on Thursday. Nikoloz Tskitishvili Power Forward Minnesota Timberwolves Profile 2006 SEASON STATISTICS GM PPG RPG APG FG% FT% 5 0.6 0.4 0.0 25.000 50.000 Minnesota had the rights to Tskitishvili and received the Suns' second pick in next year's draft. The move reunites Tskitishvili with Suns coach Mike D'Antoni, who coached him with Benetton Treviso of the Italian league in 2001-02. "If there is an ideal coach and ideal system for Skita to do well, it's here in Phoenix," Suns president Bryan Colangelo said. Tskitishvili has averaged 3.0 points, 1.8 rebounds and 11.6 minutes in 160 NBA games with Denver, Golden State and Minnesota, where he got into just five games last season. He appeared in 35 games with the Nuggets and Warriors, who acquired him and Rodney White in a trade with Denver on Feb. 24, giving up Eduardo Najera, Luis Flores and a 2007 draft pick. Tskitishvili, 22, had two professional seasons with KK Slovan of Slovenia under his belt when he played 11 games for Benetton as an 18-year-old Italian league rookie. He averaged only 6.6 points but made 73 percent of his 2-point field goal attempts, prompting the Nuggets to draft him No. 5 in the June 2002 draft which also produced Amare Stoudemire, the Suns' first pick at No. 9. Tskitishvili signed as a free agent with the Timberwolves on Aug. 9.</div> Link The first thing that comes to mind is that people will look back upon this trade and shake their heads in awe once again.. Skita will never have it better than in the Suns' system.. Should be a good fit.. He may be nothing more than a 4th or 5th big man option for the Suns but you can be certain his numbers will be better than his career averages..
I'm liking this. He didn't do well for the Nuggets but D'Antoni was his coach before and the article said this was a good system for him to play in. He could be another surprise signed by Colangelo and we really need a big man. He is a young player and hopefully he will turn out good... I think he will turn out to be a good player for us.
Great value trade for the Suns. Skita gives them yet another player who can spread a defense and knock down the 3-ball. If Skita can stay healthy, you have to like his chances at being a contributer to the Suns. He was having an outstanding summer league, before he broke his wrist.
I like this trade. It's another weapon that D'Antoni not only has worked with, but could easily bulk up our middle. It also makes our bench a little deeper and a little bigger, plus it fills Biran Grant's shoes---- Is he ever coming back?
many players thrive in this suns system i am hoping skita is one of them hey maybe he will play the role of stoudmaire and evolve into a pau gasol and then the suns can have a one-two punch in the post.

You make it sound like Marion died.. LOL... but on the other hand, I don't know if i consider marion a post player

All he does is shoot 20 footers and try to handle the ball like a point guard. He isn't a great defender nor rebounder, and potential's his only advantage right now.

He's obviously spending some time in the post. *<font size=""1"">could have sworn I heard that a few times, somewhere</font>
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NYCfinest123:</div><div class="quote_post">in video games the computer puts him in sf most of the time, can he play sf in real life??</div> Yes, if you were to give him one position it would probably be SF. He isnt a good rebounder or post defender and he hangs around the perimiter all the time. From what I've seen he isnt a very good shooter either, hes supposed to be but once hes in the game he rarely hits anything and like I said he does nothing other than lob up deep Js. Maybe Nash will get him some good looks, but I don't ever see him being anything beyond an average catch and shoot player.
Skeeta has been compared to Dirk Nowitzki his entire career. Maybe Steve Nash helps him reach that potential and get back some confidence he once had.
Wow I didn't know this guy was still in the league. Wasn't he the guy that demanded a trade from Denver.

He's one of the top 5 rebounders in the league. He's supposed to be a good shooter? No one has said that, that is definetly not a strength in his game. He's an okay shooter. But he is a great defender. He gets steals and blocks every game. His real position is SF, but he defends some PF and SG too very well. You don't know what you are talking about man... Edit 1 minute after I posted the post above: I'll leave it up as a sign of my shamefulness. I'm sure you were not talking about Marion then? You were talking about Tskitishvili, lol.
I think another player that would be a perfect fit for the Suns would be Zarko Caparkapa... which the Suns traded away last season to the Warriors. When the Warriors played an up tempto game similar to the suns last season Zarko thrived. He has a great perimeter game, he's a good passer, good ballhandler (I've seen him take it coast to coast a couple of times), and has some nifty moves. Not a banger or anything, but much more finesse. He'd be a good fit in the run and gun Suns. Unfortunately he was little used in Phoenix during his stay. He's probably very similar to Skita, but a little better. They're also good friends haha.

He never came back fully that season, which is too bad. He had the potential to be a pretty solid piece of the bench. I'm glad to hear he's doing good with the Warriors.

He's struggling a little right now, but he was very good off the bench last season with the Warriors. I hope he starts heating up. Skita, Caparkapa, and Biedrins were best friends last season. I remember reading a article where all 3 rode a carriage in new york to a club haha. Three 7' euros in a carriage lol.
