Pats go to Heinz Field on Sunday in a rematch of the AFC title game of a year ago. The Pats haven?t lost back to back games since the ?02 season. On the other hand the Steelers have had quite run of their own, going 15-1 with a rookie QB last year. Roethlisberger?s struggles in the preseason raised concern of a sophomore slump. But as we all know the preseason means nothing. The Steelers are w/o Bettis & Staley, but that hasn?t altered there game plan in the slightest. Willie Parker has flourished in his first 2 NFL games of the season. One of the biggest concerns going into the season for the Pats was can they stop the run. Once again preseason results raised some doubts, but in their 2 regular season games so far the Pats have done a decent job against the run. The Pats have been very inconsistent offensively so far. Perhaps the loss of Weis is having it?s toll early. The Steelers have one of the best front 7 in football & Polamalu is like an extra LB in the secondary. Having success in the running game early is the only way to beat these guys. You need to force the issue b/c the secondary is only good enough to play spread coverage. If they are forced to play tight they can be beat deep. Special teams will decide this game IMO. In a game where there is very little scoring, field position becomes very important. My prediction: Pats 13 Steelers 10
Honestly, I dont think the Pats have much of a chance... The Steelers look unbeatable to me, and I dont see the Pats going into Pitt and getting a win. My prediction: Pitt 24 NE 10

Nah, I think it's 10-7. Steelers over Patriots. It's the lucky Jeff Reed FG in the 4th quarter that ends it. Defenses are very good against the run, even against Willie Parker.

I also think Tom Brady will go crazy this game and Pats win on ole number 4's leg... just like the SB's
New England is gonna be fired up after that lost. I can't see the Champs going down twice. Pats 20 Pitt 14
Pittsurgh wins because i think with staley coming back and willie parker on fire i think that running game will be good
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (panthersare#1)</div><div class='quotemain'>Pittsurgh wins because i think with staley coming back and willie parker on fire i think that running game will be good</div> right...another solid performance from our D not allowing anything on the ground....I'm just scared to hear he news on Harrison..I didn't see the first and most of the second qtr due to a 6 game stretch of softball in a tourny today...we need him...and it looks like he could be out a while. But Brady lit them up and if it wasn't for some bad redzone turnovers we could have dominated on the score board as well. Huge win..I was hoping wqe would at least split the carolina/pitt road swing.
Steelers beat themselves. They should have won the game. Patriots looked good, but injuries are starting to mount. The next few weeks should be interesting... Finally, some cracks in the "unstoppable machine."
i don't know, the steelers beat themselves is one way to put it. but i think it's the pressure that pats put on them that made the steelers beat themselves. nothing like a brady vinitari team up. brady puts them in position and good old number 4 puts it though the uprights. man do i love this team.

We lost Rodney Harrison & our starting LT. We coughed up the ball twice in the redzone. On the play setting up Pitt with 1st & goal we got called for pass interference, which IMHO if you WATCHED the replays closely could have just as easily been called OFFENSIVE interference. Anyway the Pats did exactly what they needed to win, aside from the turnovers which would've made the final drive unnecessary. Brady was sharp, the OL was excellent aside from an early adjustment when Light went down & the D kept the "surprising" Willie Parker in check for most of the game. If you watched the 1st half, even though the Pats were down you KNEW they would win in the end. Why? They dominated time of possesion. The Pats wore down the Steeler D. The OL made great strides this week in giving Dillon lanes to run in. In the 2nd half b/c of the missed opportunities(credit the Steelers) in the 1st the Pats were forced to play catchup. Once again the OL(including 2 rookies) stepped up big & gave Tom the time he needed to dissect the Steeler secondary.
oh it was a thing of beauty to watch the pats hand a team defeat in the finnal moments of the game. the stealers thought they were going to win and the pats knew they were going to win. and that was the difference.
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (TOMW74)</div><div class='quotemain'>the stealers thought they were going to win and the pats knew they were going to win. and that was the difference.</div> Well, that and the score :cheesey:
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (BearsFan1)</div><div class='quotemain'>Well, that and the score :cheesey:</div> Wow thanks for that wonderful insight. So I take it you didn't watch the game either? If you had you'd see a Steeler offense, aside from one big play to Ward on their opening drive get shut down. You would have also seen Brady & Co. methodically move the chains at will on the Steelers D.

I only caught the end of the game, but how is it that the Pats were able to methodically move the chains throughout the game, yet trail most of the game? Pats proved to be the better team, especially overcoming significant injuries during the game, but you are not giving the Steelers enough credit. They looked great on offense on that last drive. Unfortunately for them, they looked terrible on defense on the last drive as well.
I gave credit to the Steelers for causing 2 HUGE turnovers in the red zone. That is the only reason this game came down to the final play. Like I said IMO the pass interference call was bogus. That was on 4th down if I'm not mistaken...so if they hadn't thrown the flag the game would have been over. Roethlisberger is a good QB, but he's no Tom Brady.

It should have been game over there. Also I was impressed with how our O-line was able to step up and give brady time even with a rookie 3rd round pick playing left tackle and our 1st rounder mankins playing left guard. Brady shredded them all day and was 12-12 for 167 yards in the 4th qtr...the two turnovers in the redzone were killers though..we could have made that game alot easier. I'm still not happy with our special teams or our overall discipline since we did have another double digit penalty day (10 I believe). Thats not good. I'm just happy to get a split out of the car/pitt road games...I knew they would be tough just because both teams had reason to want revenge against us nevermind we'd be playing in their house.
ANY other team faced with the same adversities/misfortune we faced in that game would have been blown out.

I watched the game and kind of felt that this was the Steelers to win until the 4th quarter. A good team finds a way to win, and the Pats did it. But the Steelers had control of most of the game IMO.
