Definitely good for Minny. Not sure why Boston would do this. Im also unsure of the contract situations with the two main players, Szczerbiak and Davis. Davis is definitely the best player in the deal and Blount gives the Wolves SOMETHING at the center position.Basically, the two best players boston gave up are better than the two best players theyre getting back.

og15, you forgot to mention Boston giving up a first rounder.

This seems like a "trade to make a trade." I really don't see the purpose of it. I like the fact the T'Wolves got a first rounder, though.

    Pointless trade for Boston

Ricky Davis is more active defensively getting steals and rebounds than Wally, and Ricky is more versatile on offense. Ricky can pass, shoot and drive. Wally can shoot and that's pretty much it. He is also a liability on defense.

Mark Blount has proven to be better than Kandiman, as he has a pretty solid 15 foot jumpshot, while Kandiman has been a bust and lazyass.

To make matters worse, Boston threw in draft picks.

The verdict: Trade was mad lopsided for Minnesota

Actually I think it's Minnesotta that's giving up a conditional 1st round pick.

Yea I like this trade, cause Blount will score over 15pts like once out of every 13 games, when olowokandi never would have. and I like Davis more than Wally, he is a playmaker, and will thrive next to KG. Not a great trade, but a solid one.

Oh, my bad. I thought Minnesota got the first rounder. I don't really understand this trade then.

Like many said, this trade doesn't really benift neither team all that much. When you make a trade you do it for a purpose. Get a player that you know will solidify the team or position, something that will establish an identity. And with this trade none of that seems to be apparent. Again, very pointless trade. However, if anything, I say the T-Wolves got the best of this trade.

Marcus Banks will have a bigger role because he's a closer to a traditional PG moreso than Jaric or Hudson who always look to shoot first. Blount is a solid guy who can shoot the rock and rebound when he wants to. So he is not a bad pick up and Ricky Davis is playing very well and he will be the high energy guy that will get the team running, blood flowing and get the crowd involved.

Ricky Davis is an upgrade over Wally, and his contract is smaller, Justin Reed is good defensively from what I've seen so he could be a nice bench contributor here in Minnesota. Marcus Banks defense could be a factor, I think he may eventually start for the T'Wolves.

Bostonians that actually know and love basketball HATE this deal. Moreso, the hood is heated because do you think any of us are going to rush out and get SZCZERBIAK jerseys? Ricky Davis was a fan favorite, he brought energy and excitement to the Garden....I didn't like Szczerbiak back when he was all world in college...what's changed? The C's lost their ability to get out, force turnovers, d you up, push the ball and finish on the fastbreak...the Celtics GET OUT AND RUN tagline has died with a lineup including Olowakandi, Szczerbiak, LaFrentz, and Scalabrine! All of the uptempo play and the whole Celtics commercial campaign/selling point is COMPLETELY SHOT TO HELL! Enjoy your upgrade Minnesota, trust me...when they play together you'll see that your team has gotten better despite what these national talking heads say. I quit my JustBBall Celtics page blog in protest of this deal. I will not go to or WATCH anymore Celtics games this year. They've gotten rid of way too many of the players that the fans embraced and gotten trash in return...trading Ricky Davis was the final straw...Paul Pierce has been screwed by the management three times in the last three years...his days in kelly green are numbered as well. One.

This trade actually could be a huge improvement for the Wolves. Davis and Blount add two good scoring options, Davis is versatile. and Blout is a scoring big man, which is something the Wolves have wanted badly. Having new scoring threats, particluraly post scoring threats, will free up KG and allow him to score like he used to. If KG starts playing better, the team will also get better, and with these new guys, I can see this being a big upgrade for the Wolves.

Its not a bad trade for Boston, but definitely not as good as for Minnesota. They will free up cap space by getting rid of Blount's contract, and gaining Kandi's expiring contract. The actual player they are getting is Wally, and while hes not great, he can put up a lot of points and spread the defense, which could trun out well for them. It looks more to the future, because of the contract situations, but things may work out this season.

This guy knows waht he is taling about. As a wolves fan, that makes me happy. Davis rocked tonight. If Sczerbiak is you #2 player, YOU ARE GOING NOWHERE. Thats been proven for 6 years.

The two teams are going head to head tonight, and the wolves are dominating by 25, nuff said.. also how about MArcus Banks with 18pts, with a very high shooting percentage, he could be a solid bench player for us. Blount is chipping in too with 4blks.
