I write this after yet another monster game - 36/10 vs Dallas and Josh Howard. He probably made it last season on the back of our superb team record, and this season it's the other way around. Lew is having a stellar year numberswise, but the team is losing. 21.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.5 steals per game, to only 1.7 turnovers. 48% from the field, 39% from downtown, 81% from the line. A season high of 48 points, and numerous 30+ games, there is no doubt his numbers are All-Star worthy. However, with the team languishing near the foot of the West, has he done enough as a West forward to get in? With Ray Allen probably a given in a weak conference for guards, will voters put two Sonics in again? Discuss.
Doubtful imo.. Another reason for his inclusion last year probably had to do with the fact that he's never been there before. I'm inclined to think that Elton Brand may take his spot? Though I guess the Clips have fallen off a lot since the start of the season..
Well, Gasol is putting up good stats, but the reason he is behind Gasol IMO is because Memphis has been doing really well this season, while the Sonics havn't been playing even close to what they were last season.
Lewis won't make it this year. He is having his best year and has crossed an important threshold but last year all the coaches were watching the Supes rise, and this year nobody is watching the Sonics who are playing like they were supposed to play last year.
Interesting, I hadn't realised Gasol's numbers were so good and Memphis' record was so far above .500 (eight games).

Not because I'm a fan but because his play has been great for a good team this year and it would be a shame for him to miss out. Possibly the Shard of this year. But yea, no way Rashard gets in unless they screw some people over like last year. Brand has paid his dues.
of course hes all star material but he wont make it this year, like everybody else said a lotta fowards are ahead of him, im sure if he gets more than 20 shot attempts a game, he'll give you 26 ppg, if he leaves the sonics after this year and a team would give him that many shots, then in the future hes gonna be all star for years to come
Nate called his fellow coaches last year campaining for Shard to make the team, I'm not sure that Hill has those same connections. The western conference is too stacked at the forward position anyway. Guaranteed Tmac (might lose his spot if still injured) Duncan Garnett Dirk Second Tier Brand Gasol Carmelo Lewis
Rashard is having his best season as a professional, but yet there is no doubt in my mind that he will not be an All-Star. And to be perfectly honest with you I don't think that Ray deserves to be an All-Star this year either. His numbers are definitely All-Star caliber, but I don't think that he has performed as well this season as he did when he was getting meaningful stats--in games that we were winning. But I do think that Petro deserves to be in the Rookie Sophomore game and I hope that Bobby Swift can sneak into this game as well.
