i'm goin to the game this sunday, cant wait. It'll be a good game i think a defensive struggle. good seats hopefully the Jets can pull out a win!!!!
J'ville was able to neutralize Peyton & Co so grounding the jets should not be too difficult. Especially w/ Curtis getting roughed up by the 'phins
ugh i had great seats 9 rows back 40 yard line but... it was an AWFUL GAME, the Jets should have easily won lets go over how they lost though 1. RUNNING GAME: Curtis Martin and the O'line havent been able to get over 100 yards this season so far. We arent getting any big gains or any first downs. The avg rush that i saw was about 2 yards per carry. idk if thats true but thats what it felt like. I'm not sure if its Curtis or the Oline but its definatly something and for the Jets to be successful at all, we have to figure it out because last year the running game was what made their offense so balanced and great and then they can use the playaction fake as much as they want. 2. PASSING GAME: Chad Pennington looked absolutely terrible... TERRIBLE. Some fans were saying Chad had to go after the game. Idk about that but right now i would have had any other QB in the league over Chad. Wanna hear something really sad, Dolphins fans will appreciate this. Chad was injured he strained his shoulder...jeez but anyway Feidler came in and the crowd was cheering. Then Fiedler got hurt on a scramble he actually made a great pass but then Chad came back in and i heard some jeers. We cant seem to get any completions. Either Chad threw it badly, or when he actually threw it well the WRs dropped the freakin ball. It was sad and personatly i would have had Jay Feidler in over Chad today. Also another thing... the longest pass play from scrimmage was a beautifully run screen pass to the TE for about 25 yards. The Jets are just not an exciting team offensively. You see other teams bombing 30 yard passes into the endzone, 20 yard rushes for TDs. As a jets fan u'll never see that because they arent explosive at all. Its just a very poorly run offense. Half of it is because of Pennington's injury and confidence, half of it is bad running and a breakdown of the offensive line. And the other percentage of it is poor coaching. :cheesey: haha i did a yogi 3. SPECIAL TEAMS If they didnt screw up so bad we would have won the game, with no overtime. But we still have Justin Miller in, yes the rookie whos been dropping punts since training camp. IDK WHY... it just is. Well he dropped two today. One he recovered and all was forgotten. But then he dropped one at the 15 yard line and just watched the ball being picked up by a Jaguar. I mean if u drop the freakin ball at least try and get it dont just stand there u jerk, show some freakin competativeness and pride. That ended up as a Jags TD b/c there was nothing that the defense could do with the Jags on the 10 yard line, at the start of the possesion after they got them to go three and out. Its kinda sad that a stupid mistake like this can ruin the game for u. just awful 4. COACHING Its 20-17 ur losing. You have the ball on the 9 yard line, 9 yards away from the endzone. Your running game hasnt been doing too great today, not many yards per carry. So what do u do? What play do u call? Well do u know what the Jets did with a minute left in that situation. They ran. Twice. For a total of 3 yards. Hmmmm. And when we finally did throw it into the endzone. We almost got a TD, but i guess by then they were expecting the throw huh. So instead of taking a lead of 4 with 50 secs left. The Jets opted to tie it. And seriously the way the game and the offense has been playing do u really think that they are gonna score first in overtime. Nope. Thats losing the game right there. And the fact that Justin Miller is still returning the punts is kinda sad dont u think coaches.
there were some bright spots though... The defense played great they were really the only thing that kept the Jets from being blown out of the water. Three turnovers, that ended up being 10 points. And another in a critical point in overtime and any other offense would have capitalized on. The only reason they let up so many points was because they were put in horrible situations. Such as dropped punts and turnovers by the offense. If the jets defense was with any other offense in the league they would be a great team. an other bright spot was the other part of the special teams, punting and kicking. Nugent seems to have settled down and is making his kicks. And Ben Graham the punter is doing absolutely amazing. He had a 58 yard punt today and his avg in 7 punts was about 50 yards. Hes a great punter, hes from the Australian Rugby league so not only can he punt well with nasty spin on it, spin that makes it hard to catch, hes also a beast cause he played rugby. Yay punters!
they are prepared to start the third stringer, Brooks Bollinger next game vs the... ugh Ravens. Bollinger isnt bad i like him but i much rather have Jay Fiedler out there but unfortunatly he got injured badly.
