http://www.nola.com/hornets/t-p/index.ssf?...52131594990.xml Basically Hornets are lacking a big man because they only have PJ Brown and Vorsman. Do u guys think we should perhaps trade Villaneuva for JR Smith? I mean we already have Bosh ....if we do this trade we could be looking at this in the future Bosh Smith Grahm and Ukic/Calderon
JR Smith's barely got any time in New Orleans. He's great talent and athletic ability, but doesn't defend or shoot very well. At this point, it looks like Villanueva will be a much better player than him.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Fever:</div><div class="quote_post">Graham + our second for JR.</div> ...sad thing is we could of had him last year.. I want Dahntay Jones... I don't know why I like him so much, I just want him in a Raps uni
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Locke:</div><div class="quote_post">If they'll take Araujo and/or Loren Woods, Aaron Williams, let's make the deal.</div> I think thats the only way I'd make that deal, one of the above players and Ukic. I don't think we should give up any of our draft picks or recent draftees for him. He's struggled this year and I think both Graham and Villaneuva have been more solid. (To whomever suggested Graham, don't they want a bigman?) Besides I think the last place they would trade with is Torono. I get the impression that they would be looking for a legit center as opposed to PF. I could see them trying to get Battie or Cato rather than Villaneuva or one of our scrub centers.
man are you crazy? villa appears to have a WAY bigger upside then JR smith. a skilled big man is a hot commodity. an athletic swingman is a common sight
How about dealing Williams or Woods for Arvydas Macijauskas? He's a sweet shooter and is not happy about the lack of playing time under Byron Scott. Getting him could cut into Graham's minutes but with Mo Pete and Rose both streaky shooters from outside, having Macijauskas could give us some serious outside shooting every game, and he would be easier to get than Smith.
Why trade Villanueva, the Rookie of the Month, who has been playing so well for Toronto? Right now Smith isn't showing that he has more potential than him. That's like making a trade to make a trade. I just don't think you trade a 7th overall pick in the draft seven months after he was drafted.
New Orleans has David West averaging 17 points and 8 rebounds on 50%+ shooting, Charlie is a PF, not a C, I don't see why they would want to stack the position with 2 good guys, but it it's for JR, then yea. I definately would not do that, Charlie's value >>>>>>> JR's value.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Locke:</div><div class="quote_post">How about dealing Williams or Woods for Arvydas Macijauskas? </div> Why take him when we already have Matt Bonner? Besides, there must be a reason he isn't playing (suspect perimeter defense?). I don't know, it just seems to me that acquiring him would give us an undersized shooting guard version of Matt Bonner (with speed).
You need to get kicked in the nuts for even mentioning trading CV Smooth...especially for a guy like JR Smith. My grandfather plays better defense than that dude does, and he's been dead for 20 years

funny...everyone last year was like give hoffa a chance, it's his first year. and now that it's his second year, everyone's like, give him a chance, it's his second year. i hope this doesnt happen when he's in like his 6th year. i dont wanna see a 'give hoffa a chance, it's only his 6th year'.
Hornets are keeping everyone this year. They need better spacing and with some tall long-armed dudes who can defend, expect the Hornets to go .667 the rest of the year. They want to win bad and at least half the teams they play (not in their division) have trouble with the speed Paul brings to the game no matter what their coach tells them.
