Co-sign, with Phil Jackson as our coach now, I think Butler coulda/woulda done real well, it's a damn shame.

I think I remember hearing him and Kobe had problems, can anyone verify?

I really wished the Lakers kept Butler. I understand the reasons he was traded, the Lakers needed size, but once again it looks like the Lakers are on the wrong side of a trade. Caron Butler was dedicated to the game, had an immediate bond with Kobe, and worked hard to lose 15lbs in the offseason to defend PGs in the Triangle. He was the only Laker who went to every single SPL game to support the new players.

He wasn't very good defensively last season, but under PJax, I'm sure he would have dedicated his game to the defensive end. Butler shows up every night and wants to get better.

Then we replace him with a malcontent, Kwame Brown, who isn't even taking advantage of Kareem Abdul Jabbar's presence with this team. After I read Kareem's interview I got sick to my stomach to find out Kwame still isn't working on his back to the basket game. He still thinks he's a face up player in the NBA.

The worst part about Kwame and Odom is the fact they play in Los Angeles, where this team is under a microscope. Now everyone in the league gets insight on their lazy games and the "potential" label has definitely disappeared from both players. With the money these two make, the Lakers will never get equal value back.

I think Mitch Kupchak keeps trying to hold onto the more talented player everytime, but doesn't understand the importance of role players. Having the right guy who will play his role consistently and perfect it.

Lamar Odom is obviously more talented than Caron Butler, but I think Butler would have understood the role a lot quicker than Odom. Butler knows how to move without the basketball and is better at attacking the rim.

So yeah I miss Butler's game and character.

Man , caron showed heart when he played, he has the aggressiveness of attacking the hole almost like Kobe. Lamar doesn't have that yet. At least Caron had consistent numbers day in and day out. Bring back Caron...

That's the reason why I hate Mitch for trading him. He had so much heart and he was just overall a great person. After I heard about his life story on Jay Leno and he was all tearing up, I felt for him. Especially when you come from nothing all the way to professional basketball, it's a huge step.

I'm not bagging on Kwame Brown for having any of that, but he doesn't show like he wants it on the court. He just seems to be so out of place and doesn't like he has a clue what to do everytime he gets the ball.

    So yeah I miss Butler.
