Mullin said he wants a big man and here's some speculation on my part:

-Darko-Left handed, 7 ft kid with tons of skill. Has yet to see any playing time on a loaded Pistons frontline. Only 21 years old. Athletic and can rebound the basketball. Not sure what Dumars would be ask for.

-Kelvin Cato- Not the answer but acquiring him would mean dumping Foyle to the magic. Cato is an expiring contract and we would finally be rid of Foyle. From what I've seen Cato is much stronger and is marginally better offensively than Foyle. Better rebounder.

-Kenyon Martin-There have been whispers in Denver of wanting to trade him. He was a big part of New Jersey's glory days. Very athletic and an aggressive defender. No low post game to speak of but finishes very well in transition. Great fit for this team. The one problem is his health and contract which is probably why Denver wouldn't mind trading him.

Magloire-Meat on his bones, big & strong. Controls the paint, rebounds the basketball and has a decent offensive game. The bucks would want Pietrus.

Bosh-No way we will ever get this kid. He is S-T-U-D and Toronto fired guys in the front office to keep him.

Personally i would like to see in the off season us sign Pryz in a sign and trade as he is a free agent at the end of this season.

One Center i dont see anyone mentioning and he ate us up in the paint, too quick and too strong for us early in the season ZaZA Pachulia

Kenyon is overrated and his contract is ginormous. I'd want to try Darko since he'd come the cheapest out of most of them and I have faith in him.

Agreed but he'd help alot none the less. Mullin better make sure he is what we want for the future because we are stuck with him if we trade for him. I think he would fit in pretty well in with our team, hes not much of a post scoring threat but you can't leave him alone and we'll finally get someone to finish on the inside. Hes pretty good defensively (especially shotblocking) and an average rebounder. Its still not a great option though unless we are really struggling and can get a good deal for him.

Darko is nice but we already have plenty of big men projects who care more about playing and improving themselves. Darko seems to just want to be given the job, hes shown some promise in the chances that hes gotten but hes not really what we need IMO. Also, we dont have much that Detroit would want.

Cato would be a solid acquisition if we dumped one of our bad contracts to get him. Hes basically like Foyle but a little better at everything (and hes huge). Plus hes an expiring contract.

Magloire is pretty well rounded and played with Baron before. He can scorre from the post, rebound, and block some shots but he also turns it over alot for a big man and he may leave after his contract expires (though I dont think its all that likely). He'd be a very good acquisition but what would the Bucks want from us? Again, probably Diogu, maybe Pietrus but they just signed Bobby Simmons and Michael Redd to big contracts.

I'd want Magloire, but they'd ask for some of our young prospects... He actually turns the ball over less than Yao haha

I think Kmart won't live up to his contract, but he sure is a motivated, tough guy that can jump out of the gym. He is mostly an undersized, defensive guy, but is incredibly strong for his size. No post game, not nearly as good numbers as when he was with the Nets, but he could be interesting to have in the running game.

We can run right now against the slower teams, but it's not the best way to play basketball because we don't move enough off the ball, it's tiring, people settle for long jumpers when they're tired, you suffer on the defensive end running back. I still think the best teams out there can mix it up with a running offense and playing it slow to almost a grinding halt. If you look at the teams who made the finals, they were all teams that could beat you in a variety of ways, but above all, mostly defensively so they can fuel their offense. When they're playing it slow, they go with a smart, patient, well executed offense (in most cases, unless you give it to Shaq or Kobe and get the heck out of their way).

I think in terms of big men, our main problem is not so much Murphy (it is and it isn't) but with our lack of a true starting center. How many teams would Adonal Foyle start for? Probably very few. He's a hustle shotblocker, not much toughness, not much finesse, not much polish on the little things a big man is supposed to know, and not much athleticism anymore. Even if we were to upgrade the center position, we'd have to have Yao or Shaq or Jermaine O'neil or Duncan or some other elite guy to make up for the fact Murphy is more or less a role player with some serious flaws. There's not too many all around centers in the league, so it's just easier to get a scoring power forward that can also be a presence defensively and a big center that can be intimidating defensively and score on putbacks or earn us second chance points. I think we lack intimidation when it comes to undersized, slow, soft as heck Foyle and slow, soft, matador Murphy. Plus, Dunleavy is a good help defender, but there will be times where he cannot react to quickness. Same goes with Baron and Jrich who absolutely struggle with guys like Tony Parker/Sebastian Telfair/TJ Ford or Michael Redd/Kobe. I sure hope we're keeping Pietrus and Ellis for those point guard/shooting guard matchups where we need absolute quickness and less power.

Foyle is not that soft or slow,he's trying to do too much, but on D his technique is good. If he's got to leave his man to stop a drive,it's not his fault, you can't be everywhere, Foyle on offense is an adventure BUT Foyle has a much better FG % than Darko. Until I see Darko do SOMETHING in a REAL NBA game I will still consider him a hoax. At BEST it would take several years before he's as good as Taft/Biedrens. At worst it takes several years before he's as good as Shika.

Cato would be a good catch, assuming we don't give away too much. He's nearly as good as Foyle on D,better on D than Mags, not bad on offense,at least has okay hands.

I have not watched much of Darko but at least Biedrins has contributed at key moments in some games.

    KMart isn't a center

The Warriors need someone at the center who does not need a lot of touches. They need a big, thick, 7 foot dude to stand in the paint and do nothing more than:

    1)Take up space

2)Make the other team wake up sore the next day

3)Rebound at an average rate for his size (if Foyle only did that!)

4)Stand, wait for Baron to penetrate, CATCH the ball when it's handed off to him, and dunk it

    That's all

Based on 10 seconds of highlight moments,Foyle looks like Amare,The few times I actually saw Darko in a game,he was almost irrelevant. He HAS had some action, and if you look at the results he's done little. I recall he had one decent game, finishing a blowout win against a sucky team. Biedrens,Taft, even Foyle have had good games when the minutes were relevant. Basically, nobody has seen Darko do much of anything. He's got no more NBA resume than Zendan Hamilton, but Hamilton had some good years at St Johns. Darko allegedly was hot stuff in some Yugo teenager league. That's it.[IMG] IF he had shown real SKILLS the Pistons would have found some use for him. Larry Brown is playing all 3 Knicks rookies. That's not why Darko gets no PT. For maybe Calbert and a future rd 2,he'd be worth trying to salvage, but he has to CARE about getting good.

That's all</div> Sounds like Ostertag. A cheap "Ostertag" might be Eric Chenowith, now plaing in the CBA,7-1 about 270 rebounding well in the minors.
Taft is not 7-0,and so far not over his back troubles but he could do as much as most " available veterans"
I like Cato. The issue is what's the price tag. He's someone Mully may be looking at,If Foyle was to go in the deal,we'd seriously want to consider re-signing cato at a sensible price.

Uhhh so. It's not like we have a top ten PF, we don't have a top 20 PF. Murphy don't fit here. I'd easily upgrade that position and overpay K-Mart. He'd translate better in the running game next to Davis. The injuries are the only thing that worry me.

If Mullin sits on his hands I'd like to take a stab at Jermaine O'Neal in the offseason. Now the usual consesus would be that he's untouchable but Bird has hinted the past 2 offseasons that if Jermaine doesn't step up, he could trade him.

JRich/Ike/Murph/1st for Jermaine. I'd like to keep Ike but we're talking about Jermaine here.

As good as Jermaine is I wouldn't want to give up JRich and Ike.

If you want a PF, David West is the man.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3721

He's having an absolute break out season. He went from 6 pts 4 reb last season to 17 pts 8 reb this season after becoming a starter. He also shoots 83% from the stripe, almost as good as D-Fish. I think he'd be better than Kenyon, has more potential, and much cheaper than Kenyon. And I'm sure Baron is friends with him.

Saw a bit of West and he looks like a well rounded offensive player but he didn't look that good to me on defense. To trade for a kid on his rookie scale will cost you an arm and a leg, especially considering he's putting up good #'s. I'd either see what we got with Ike/Beans/Taft or trade in the chips for a HUGE difference maker like Jermaine.

This is kinda going backwards in order, just a few of my thoughts.

David West is a good scorer and rebounder, but Ike should be as good as West soon. It took West 3 seasons to break out, as well as some good chemistry with Chris Paul.

O'Neal would be great, but as you already have noted, quite expensive. Further, he's quite the injury risk, and his body has been breaking down further and further as time has gone on.

Like Alley, I would settle for a "solid" big man, even if it was just a role player who would help when we needed better defense, although it didn't sound like Mully was leaning that way.

Zaza Pachulia was a player I wanted the Warriors to grab in the offseason, but instead he went to Atlanta. He's not a typical center, but in Atlanta he's the only one that can fill that role, so he does it. So, because of that, he's very unlikely to be traded.

Magloire is possible, but I don't think the Bucks will give him up without asking for too much in return. I'd rather try to get Gadzuric, who's more of the backup-defensive type, and would probably be easier to get.

Chris Wilcox was mentioned and I think he's always been a possible trade target, although I'm sure the Clippers are asking a lot for him. Haywood is also a fair possibility, although that would leave the Wizards with just Etan Thomas and Ramos down low. Cato would be ok, but really only for a short-term solution.

    Looks like Magloire:
