Get this guy mully. Controls the paint and has an NBA body to defend the interior. I can understand if he lost on Artest due to his mental health but he cannot lose on Magloire. Monty would be in heaven to get someone that can grab some boards, catch some passes and move people out of the paint. No excuses, land this guy.

    I'd offer Murph/1st for Mags

    worst case scenario: Murph/Pietrus/1st

We have the trade exception, it'll allow us to trade Murphy's BYC.

The only downside for Magloire is his desire to return to Canada and play for the Raptors after his current deal is up. If he's only planning on being a 1 season rental, the Warriors shouldn't give up a lot to acquire him.

How about going after the Collins twins, Jason & Jarron? For starters they both know Monty from Stanford and can do all the dirty work in the paint. They are sound fundamentally and set effective picks to free up shooters or create space in the lane. Plus both can put the ball in the basket with either hand. They also shoot a reasonable clip at the FT line 70% career for both.

    Food for thought:
Everyone here knows I hate Foyle and don't like Murph but I will admit Murph is valuable. He creates matchup problems and rebounds but doesn't fit in with this roster playing next to Dunleavy & Foyle. With Milwaukee, Murphy seems like a good fit. He's playing with a strong/athletic wing whose a good defender in Simmons. Playing Next to a post scorer in Bogut and a defender in Gadzuric also can't hurt. Stotts team is relying on perimeter shooting instead of going inside and again, Murphy fits.

Now apparently Mullin tried to swing a deal earlier to New Orleans for Magloire but they denied it. The deal was Murphy and a 1st, instead they took the Mason kid. I think getting Murph would have been much better for them but they probably looked at the financial aspect and didn't want to Pay Murph all those years. Now Milwaukee probably has no intention whatsoever to resign Magloire with Bogut. They have one year left until he walks. Now Murphy would give them another rebounder/shooter, they would manage to get a serviceable PF to replace Magloire and team with their existing roster and those pieces compliment eachother.

Now as far as looking at Magloire possibly leaving after the contract with us, I'll tell you it won't be to Toronto. Their new GM just traded Rose for an expiring contract and Toronto is doing everything possible to retain Bosh. This offseason Toronto will go into spending mode and land some pieces to show Bosh they are serious about winning. By the time they finish handing out contracts to Bosh and their free agent recruit, their won't be money left next offseason to land Magloire. If Golden State has the right to match, I think Magloire would stay here to play with Davis.

I don't think the Bucks want Murph, hes too much like Bogut who is their big man of the future. I think they'd probably want Pietrus/filler/1st round pick, which i would do. Also, Murphy could have some added value if we get a center with a low post game. There are some possible problems with getting him though, he gets alot of TOs for a big man and hes a tweener. Also, he may leave once his contract is up but I doubt Toronto would have the cap space to sign him then. Mullin already has a reputation around the league for paying the players very well and Mags would probably rather play here with Baron if he couldnt go to Toronto.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AnimeFANatic:</div><div class="quote_post">As good as Jermaine is I wouldn't want to give up JRich and Ike.

If you want a PF, David West is the man.

He's having an absolute break out season. He went from 6 pts 4 reb last season to 17 pts 8 reb this season after becoming a starter. He also shoots 83% from the stripe, almost as good as D-Fish. I think he'd be better than Kenyon, has more potential, and much cheaper than Kenyon. And I'm sure Baron is friends with him.</div>

good point, but i don't think hornets will let him go[IMG]
Unless golden state offers Hyori to be his gf or something...then it's possible[IMG]

But of course, we will never let that happen[IMG]
