Note: I found this on another forum but thought you guys might find it intresting.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Afterward, Nets reserve and former Jazz forward Scott Padgett shed some light on perhaps why teams shoot poorly there.

"They over inflate the balls," he told the Newark Star-Ledger. "They have an offense geared toward the layup, so they want your jumpers bouncing out.</div>

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">But, the Pistons players agree with Padgett. Before the game in Utah last month, Chauncey Billups argued with the officials to change the game ball. He didn't like the feel of it -- too slick and too bouncy. The referees refused to make a change.

When told of Padgett's claim, Billups nodded and said, "He's right."</div>

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"I am not levying a charge, it's the truth," Padgett said. "Ask anybody? it's not a conspiracy theory. It's fact-based."</div>

It says they rely on their points in the paint so it makes it harder for the other team. If the other team is taking more jumpshots then the Jazz, it still helps them a little.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Former Jazz forward Scott Padgett has a theory why he missed both of his shots during Utah's victory over New Jersey on Monday: The Jazz cheat. Specifically, he told the Newark Star-Ledger in a light-hearted interview, that the basketballs are overinflated at the Delta Center, because "they have an offense geared toward the layup, so they want your jumpers bouncing out. " Told of Padgett's accusation, Sloan laughed and said, "Well, I've never heard that one before. I guess people will believe anything." Equipment manager Brian Zettler inflates the balls to 8.3 pounds per square inch, according to Jazz policy, and only adjusts them when necessary.</div>

Maybe Ben Wallace misses his FTs because he sucks? Just throwing that out there. No reason why I felt like that needed to be said.

Scott Padgett is a good 3-point shooter.

I guess the best way to test the theory is to look at the boxscores at Utah. Then take a look at Free Throw shooting percentages for certain players or teams at Utah vs. everywhere else.

Oh know, you've attacked the player on my sig. How can I ever come back against that?

Obviously I was kidding. The whole comment and issue are just a joke, as evidenced by Stockton's post.

How can the cheat help them win their games when their home record and road record are the same? I know sometimes teamsmight try to do this... Ey, you never know... Teams probably cheat like that.. If a former Jazz said they do it...Ya they do it... Stupid cheaters!!!. but how'd they beat the Pistons on the road?

I, for one, would love to see the Hornets make the playoffs ahead of the
    Utah Sloanheads.
