Chicago begins a seven-game road trip in Dallas when the Bulls meet the Mavericks tonight (7:30 p.m. CT | CSN-Chicago/ESPN Radio 1000).

The Bulls (20-23) have won their last four games. Although they have struggled against the Mavericks in the past several years, Chicago did post an upset win at Dallas last season.

More recently, Ben Gordon scored 23 points, Kirk Hinrich added 22 and Tyson Chandler grabbed 14 rebounds Saturday to lead Chicago to a 111-99 victory over the Atlanta Hawks.

The Mavericks (34-10) look for their ninth consecutive win tonight when they face the Bulls, a team they have beaten in 14 of their last 15 encounters.

Averaging 104.7 points during the streak, Dallas will try to finish January with a 13-2 mark and move into a tie with San Antonio for the best record in the Western Conference.

Josh Howard scored 24 points and Dirk Nowitzki added 21 to lead the Mavericks in Saturday's 103-89 triumph over the Utah Jazz.

Nowitzki scored 35 points as Dallas posted a 102-94 win over Chicago in their earlier meeting Dec. 5. The Bulls have reached the century mark against the Mavericks just once since March, 1998.

Tune in to watch this evening's game on Comcast SportsNet Chicago and listen to it on ESPN Radio 1000 (both pregame shows at 7:00). Visit Bulls.com or click here now for a complete preview of this evening's contest.

    Series Notes
The Bulls have lost 14 of the last 15 meetings with the Mavericks, including seven-consecutive at the United Center ... Dallas has swept the series in six of the last seven seasons (not in 2004-05) ... Chicago's last victory in Chicago was on Dec. 29, 1997, a 111-105 win led by Michael Jordan's 41 points and Dennis Rodman's 27 rebounds ... last season, Chicago posted a 107-100 upset win at Dallas, led by Luol Deng's career-high 30 points, to snap a 13-game losing streak in the series.

This will be a very tough game to win the Mavericks have one of the best teams in the league, and their depth is impressive. I would not be surprised to see the Bulls pull off an upset the Mavericks although an elite team are not the type of team that are so dominating that a upset seems unrealistic. By the way does anyone think I should make game previews for the forum again. If I get replies for them I will start making them again, but right now me and MJ seem to be the only ones commenting in the game threads.

IF no one is going to post in them, dont bother with making the previews. No point wasting your time.

Anyway first quarter done and not a good one.

Down 18 to 32. (2 of 6 on the free throws too [IMG] )

Ouch the Bulls are really performing horribly right now. If I was a Bulls fan that paid to go to this game I would ask for a refund 67-39 in the third quarter. The Bulls have not even scored 40 points yet just sad. On the bright side though in the early stages of the third Tyson has 10 rebounds and six points.

Man they just showed extra coverage of this game on espn, and I have to say Tyson Chandler is an animal on the boards. He no longer gives up on long rebounds he boxes out, and he has just shown a lot of improvement.
