Magloire is a proven center and he's got tremendous upside - you saw how he just overpowered Sow and Bosh a few days ago. Robert Swift, Pachulia? I understand Chris Kaman...but come on...those guys don't compate to Magloire and there aren't many centers out there that are available, especially young centers.

Upside to do what? I don't know what upside Magloire has right now. He's a 10-11 PPG, 9-10 RPG, 1 BPG guy that turns the ball over a little too much, and is not the most efficient scorer, but is not bad at C.

I also agree, Kaman is sick, he's done great for the Clips this year. He averaged about 15-11, 2 BPG in January too.

    shaggy rules

I expect him to go 11-8 and 1.5 blocks this year (which is very solid already) and he did a bit better than that

he is better than magloire i think (at least more durable and less of a foul prone player) and much younger (although kaman looks like he is 35)

Upside wise, magloire doesn't have much to improve anymore...shaggy does...and hey..he plays for clippers, maybe toronto can do something to Sterling's cheque books (you know, scare him by drawing up some artificial circles to mess his eyes [IMG] )and get him at some good price

Well right now Chris is averaging 10.9 PPG | 9.3 RPG | 1.74 BPG | 52.5% FG | 77.2% FT | 31.9 MPG. He's been doing great, and some of us like to call him Chris Caveman.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Jones:</div><div class="quote_post">if it was NO draft pick I'd be happy but it's Miami's so it will be an extremely low draft pick and the other pick in 2009! c'mon this means we almost gave him away really. Is everyone saying this is a good pick just b/c something happened? There isn't a lot of players that make it from that late in the draft. And before everyone says Sow...IMO the jury is still very much out on him? Why not trade Williams straight up for Makjivious (sp)? IMO I also see Williams picking his numbers up and (again) making the Raptors look like they got the short end of the stick.
I am hoping that this is picking up picks to eventually trade with someone else ala Erik Williams. What I don't understand is why we couldn't take a flyer on Nikolas Tsivididiki (sp). He was picked up by Phoenix for a second rounder! A young guy with a lot of potential (#5 overall). Those are the kinda trades that I would consider to be good.</div>

whats better? a guy who takes up cap space and gets DNP c/d EVERY GAME, or a pair of 2nd round future picks?

oh...and makeoutcity...you have the best sig EVER! "im tellin ya im hungry for these cup cakes cousin!"

Don't forget we get the 3 some odd millions dollars in trade exceptions because we didn't take a player back.. and correct me if i'm wrong, i believe, Raptors could use the trade exception to sign or resign players..

Aaron Williams is a player....when he plays. Hard to get proper value for someone when he is stuck on the end of the bench. This also means we can't send Hoffa down unless we want to have Pape and Woods at the 5. And right now I think Hoffa needs to go down to get his confidence back. As for the 2nd rounders....oooh yay 55th overall (depeneding on Miami) and a pick in 3 years. Career averages of 6ppg and 4rpg (?) over Hoffa's 1.2 & 1.5, the only reason he is on the end of the bench is b/c Sam doesn't play him. He'll get to NO get his minutes and play to a level that woulda got us more than a couple of 2nds and some cap...
bring on the Erik Williams and Mike James trades! Why not get the best value for James while he is playing the the best ball of his career.....but that's for a different thread.

Aaron Williams tenure with the Raps always confused me. He comes from the Nets who had some really good years and Williams was ALWAYS playing. HE gets traded here and sits on the bench the whole time. There is another story here somewhere.

Reminds me of when we released Lindsey Hunter because we had no playing time for him. Then 4 months later the Pistons win the championship with Hunter on the floor when the final buzzer sounds.

Rememer Ginobili and Parker were almost the last picks in their respective drafts. (Parker I think was 2nd last). With the 2 second rounders we can take euro prospects, like 1 center and 1 sg and let them develop just like the Spurs do.
