<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">NEW YORK -- Forwards Andrew Bogut of Milwaukee and Dwight Howard of Orlando led a list of 19 players selected for the Rookie Challenge in Houston as part of the All-Star weekend. Bogut was the No. 1 draft choice in 2005 and Howard had that honor in 2004. Joining Bogut on the rookie team for the Feb. 17 game are Luther Head of Houston; Danny Granger and Sarunas Jasikevicius of Indiana; Chris Paul of New Orleans; Channing Frye and Nate Robinson of New York; Charlie Villanueva of Toronto; and Deron Williams of Utah. Howard will be part of a sophomore team with Emeka Okafor of Charlotte (who is injured and will not play); Luol Deng, Ben Gordon and Andres Nocioni of Chicago; Devin Harris of Dallas; T.J. Ford of Milwaukee; Nenad Krstic of New Jersey; Jameer Nelson of Orlando; and Andre Iguodala of Philadelphia. The players were selected by NBA assistant coaches. The head coaches for the Rookie Challenge are the lead assistants from the All-Star staffs -- Sidney Lowe of Detroit (rookies) and Del Harris of Dallas (sophomores). NBA greats Elvin Hayes (rookies) and Moses Malone (sophomores) will be assistants.</div> Source
nocioni??? wtf?? no josh smith and j.r. smith??? wtf?????????????????????????all star weekend is suppose to be about highlights and those 2 can make the crowd jump out the building, i know nocioni is having a good year but come on he cant have any highlights, this is gonna be boring to watch

JR Smith is barely playing any minutes and Andre Nocioni is a vital part of his team's playoff hopes. The Rookie/Sophomore rewards young players, not set a stage for dunkers.
Where the hell is josh smith? they invited him to the dunk comp. but not the rookie challenge. he's averaging more points than nate who got invited, plus he blocks like over 2 shots a game. I could understad JR, but josh smith should have been invited.

It's not like you could take out Nate and put Smith in. If you look at the Sophomore roster, all of the players selected are having better seasons than Josh Smith. Not to mention Atlanta is the worst team in the league. Smith doesn't deserve to be in the game any more than the guys selected, stop crying about it.

Should be fun to watch though, my pick`s on the sophmore team. Wait, when was the last time a rookie team beat the soph`s... anyone know?
I think Bogut doesn't get much attention that he deserves. I think it's because he plays in Milwaukee, he's very underrated.

Nocioni has been playing better than Josh Smith, and Iguodala, Harris and Dwight can get some dunks. Also with Emeka and Jameer out, 2 other guys could be put in.
Did I read "Bogut...led 19 others" in rookie game voting? Come on. Comparing Bogut to Paul is like comparing Judi Dench to Kirsten Dunst. Who voted? Shawn Bradley, Bill Walton and Eric Montross? Bogut may be in the NBA but he sure isn't in Paul's league.

Rookie-Sophmore game brings back fond memories as a GS fan. Anyone remember J-Rich bouncing the ball off of Carlos Boozer's head and then nailing a 3 in the 2003 Rookie-Soph game?

I hope they select Chris Duhon to replace Jameer Nelson in the game. Duhon got snubbed by not being an original selection to the game. Though not the flashest Bull he has been arguably the most consistent one all season.
The NBA is always ultimately trying to expand its market, so Nocioni and Yao getting in the Limelight, and the latter even garnering the most votes, will to the cynical among us appear as transparent as the new dress code.
I think the biggest snub has to be Delonte West. his numbers compare very favorably to Devin Harris and Jameer Nelson

In the long run, Bogut could wind up being more valuable just because of the lack of centers in the league, but right now, you've got to go with Chris Paul, no questions asked. Paul could be playing in the game on Sunday, whereas Andrew Bogut will be lucky to finish the year on the All-Rookie Team. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> 2002, I remember because J-Rich was the MVP. Didn't Boozer get really pissed off about it though? If I remember correctly, he took it really personally.
