Now, before i said anything, i just start this thread out of pure curiousity...
and i would like to include some conditions before i said anything:

#1 My opinions below are what i actually thought at that VERY MOMENT of the draft, NOT after seeing how players turn out, and i ride the train along the way to show off how good i am etc....therefore, i expect the same from whoever that is going to reply

#2 Human ipod vince is not happy with toronto, and he will be traded, and lets just say...all the rumours that was out there were legitimate

#3 I would like to start from the last year of Grunwald, the year he drafted bosh

#4 Jalen and Marshall are in town for JYC and antonio davis

#5 assume toronto have #4 pick 3 years ago (bosh), #8 pick 2 years ago (white bateer), #7 pick this past year (charlie)

    ---------------------------------------------------------
    Anyways, let me start...

NBA draft...3 years ago: Toronto drafted BOSH

Hohoyoyoyo: good pick, but i would pick Wade because i see alvin being very injury prone at that time and dangerously on retirement

NBA draft...2 years ago: Toronto drafted (you know who)

hohoyoyoyo: i would pick jameer nelson and put him as 6th man or when he play PG, wade is SG...alvin is out of pic by now

NBA draft...this past year: Toronto drafted charlie

hohoyoyoyo: Danny Granger for the need of defensive presence, and for his flexibility to play two positions
    -------------------------------
Human ipod trade: I like the rumour of vince for ray straight up that was popping up couple years ago...i would go for it
    -------------------------------
Jalen rose+Marshall: TRY to trade jalen...if not he has to stay unfortunately...but i would try to trade jalen for draft picks (similar case to aaron williams)

Marshall i would keep and i am pretty sure he will sign because i will give him play time he ask for

    Therefore, by now:

    The line up looks like:

C-some white walls and marshall rotate depending on match up
    PF-Marshall/danny/bonner
SF-Danny and Jalen (i am assuming nobody wants him because of salary)
    SG-Ray and peterson
    PG-Wade and jameer

Anyways, that would be the line up if i drafted the way i was drafting, fantasizing myself as toronto's GM all these past few years, and trading vince for ray...that's about it...the rest of the players are same to what toronto has right now...

Anyways, feel free to post, and lets see your line ups
I am not here to resurface the "how bad toronto management is" and the "infamous trades/drafts" etc

I am here just out of curiousity to see what line ups you guys WOULD have if you were the GM that's all

    good luck[IMG]

I don't think you followed your first rule too well: there was too much hindsight.
    ----------------------------
Draft 2003: Draft Bosh (nobody knew Wade would be this good), Bonner, and trade away the last 2nd rounder instead of wasting it on Remon Van de Hare (I didn't know anybody who was left on the board).

Free Agency 2003: I can't remember who we were going after and how much cap space we had.

Trades 2003: Wouldn't have stopped the Jalen, Marshall for AD, JYD trade (didn't understand how crippling Jalen's salary was back then).

Draft 2004: Draft a high school player (I think I was hoping for Robert Swift) and leave the Pape-Albert Miralles trade as it was.

Free Agency 2004: Resign Mo-Pete. I think I was favouring the Raps go after Troy Hudson. If we couldn't get him, I would have settled for a cheaper PG (Sura, Anderson, Ward, etc.)

Trades 2004: Once I realized that VC wasn't returning phone calls and acting suspiciously moody, I would have traded him for Ray Allen (I think I was favouring a trade for Maggette at the time). I also would have traded Marshall at the deadline for a scrub and a pick (late 1st, early 2nd).

Draft 2005: Draft Granger and Roko Ukic in the 2nd round.

Free Agency 2005: If Bonner is willing to sign less than 1.5 mill (can't remember the exact number I was thinking) then I wanted to sign him. If not, I think I wanted to take that money and spend it on the Center that the Bucks let go (Zaza Pachulia). I had no idea who Jose Calderon was.

Trades 2005: If a trade comes up for Jalen where I don't get more salary in return, then I go for it (even if I give up a pick).
    -----------------------------
Its hard to go back so many years and try to run the team. I can't remember all of the rumours and players out there, and I'm sure there were so many other trade offers that we never heard about. Plus, my team would have probably been a lot crappier in 2004, so would I have gotten a higher draft pick? And what about that pick from the Marshall trade?

    Best Case Scenario Lineup:

    C-Zaza Pachulia/Robert Swift
    PF-Chris Bosh/Pape Sow
    SF-Danny Granger/Jalen Rose???
    SG-Ray Allen/Morris Peterson
    PG-Troy Hudson/???

    Worst Case Scenario Lineup:

    C-Pape Sow/???
    PF-Chris Bosh/Matt Bonner
    SF-Danny Granger/Jalen Rose
    SG-Ray Allen/Mo-Pete
    PG-Bobby Sura???/???

    ----------------------------------
In reality, I'm sure we'd all do much worse than Babcock and Grunwald. I'd be way in over my head. At least I knew Zaza was going to be a stud.

NBA Draft (3 years ago): I would select Bosh. I dont care how good Wade is, but i have a feeling that Bosh will be the next Garnett, and good big men dont come around that easily

    NBA Draft (2 years ago)

I would have drafted Jameer Nelson. I have always been high on Nelson, i think he'll be really good in the future.

    NBA Draft this past year:

I would have attempted to package our 2 first round picks along with Morris Peterson and cash for N.O's number 3 pick and Jamaal Magloire.

Vince Carter trade: I would have loved a VC for Marion. This talk was going on, and apparently was rejected by Babcock.

Rose and Marshall: I would have tried to get rid of Rose, for an expiring contract, and a pick. I would have kept Donyell.

    Line-Up:

    Magloire
    Bosh
    Marion
    Mike James
    Chris Paul

Key bench players: Nelson and Marshall

NBA Draft 3 Years ago: Bosh. Most definetly. We needed a big man and this was the man at the time.

NBA Draft 2 years ago: I wanted Iguodala. So take him.

Would have done the Marshall and Rose deal. (Thought they were quality players).

    Re-sign MoPete.

    Re-Sign Bonner.

Would have traded VC for Shawn Marion which was an offer at one point.

Would have drafted Danny Granger in the 1st round, Salim in 2nd (if available).

Alston for Mike James (WHO?!) in a hearbeat

    Lineup:

    PG- Mike James/Salim Stoudemire
    SG- Andre Iguodala/Jalen Rose
SF- Morris Peterson/Danny Granger (Or other way around)
    PF- Shawn Marion/Matt Bonner
    C- Chris Bosh/Pape Sow

    I like that team alot.

    nice guys

very interesting...i never knew there was such a rumour for marion...WOW

i would take that too [IMG]

and by the way, all of your line ups would look great now

OH, and the reason i took wade over bosh because i see alvin's career is over at that time already and i watched Marquette's game at that time and wade was CRAZY in the NCAA tournament
but yeah...like i said above..bosh would be a nice pick too
