I see there is no preview right now for tonight's game, so I'm opening this thread for comments. After the first half, Rockets leads 49-41 with an amazing 2nd quarter and a super Chucky Hayes (8 PTS, FG 3-3, FT 2-2, 5 Rebounds). Some good moves by Yao who is actually our best scorer with 13 points. T-Mac is sleeping.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting DaRocket:</div><div class="quote_post">T-Mac is sleeping.</div> T-mac is hurting. As I expected, Hayes and Yao is a winning combination. Van Gundy needs to bench Howard. Swift can be our third string PF/C.
At least TMac is making his free throws. Rockets up 11 at the end of third, looks like we'll cruise to a win, although Bobby Simmons looks like he can singlehandedly take the Bucks back into this game.
Stromile Swift isn't playing tonight. He was late to the Shootaround so they suspended him for tonights game.
Rockets bag it 86-84. Yao looks like he's back to his pre-injury form, netting 21 and 14 this game. Chuck Hayes did more in 13 minutes than Juwan Howard did in 33. It's hard to say whether Hayes can give you good numbers in 30+ minutes against starters, but he should be playing more than 13. Looks like Swift will be the odd man out in the frontcourt.
Why did JVG put Howard back in at the end of the game? I wish he'd just trust what's worked for him during the game, and keep Chuck Hayes in. That substitution almost lost us the game.
Chuck Hayes played again an important part in the Rockets second quarter comeback. He got his usual average on just 13 mins. With TMac, Wesley and Howard on the bench, Head,Bowen, Hayes along with Yao and Alston turned the game around to give the Rockets the lead. Same as most home games, the Rockets had a bad shooting night again that almost allowed the Bucks to steal the game. When will the Rockets bounce from their shooting slump?
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">When will the Rockets bounce from their shooting slump?</div> When they stop settling for jump shots. Specially McGrady, he reminds me of that one year in Orlando when he would'nt drive the ball and all he shot were jumpers. The problem lies when the Rockets allow the defense to dictate what shot they take, think about it why do they get so many open looks at Threes?Because they want you to shot them! I can't stress it enough, JVG should put emphasis on getting to the rack and maybe drawing fouls.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting JuLiO-R-:</div><div class="quote_post">Stromile Swift isn't playing tonight. He was late to the Shootaround so they suspended him for tonights game.</div> How do you know this?

Skip has got to keep taking that ball to the basket to shoot or pass, especially when the clock is going down and TMac doesn't have the ball. Over and Over all Year. The pick and roll with J.Howard makes it easy to double TMac with a bigger player and easily gets the ball out of his hand. Unless Juwan has his J going, I think the Rockets have to leave C.Hayes as long as possible. I really want to see Yao dominate these next few games. Seattle and NY has nobody to stop him. TMac has to feel as good as it can to be sitting on the bench, the rockets jumped out to the lead without him in the game.
