Swift was not suspended, and therefore was paid. Although he will be fined, he is eligible to return to practice today. "He had an unexcused lateness so it's unfortunate, but it happens," Rockets coach Jeff Van Gundy said. "I think he played his best minutes in a long time against Memphis. It's unfortunate. But he's a good player and a good guy. Tomorrow's another day." Swift had been dropped a spot in the Rockets' rotation, with rookie Chuck Hayes the first forward or center off the Rockets' bench. Hayes has averaged 6.8 points and 7.9 rebounds in 22.5 minutes per game.</div> Source
Wow did van gundy just call swift a good player??? Looks like van gundy still feels that swift could be what he wants him to be and is giving him another chance in tommorows another day. Usually van gundy seems pretty critical towards these things does this mean he had a chance to work back into the rotation? Do you guyz believe swift will reli become the players we dreamed him to be
JVG knows that Swift fills that athletic void in the middle that was evident last year. So it could start becoming a hope that the light bulb finally pops on. Stro's learning curve has taken a sharp turn. Many times he still seems like he has no earthly idea how to get himself in good position.
