In the west, which center is better than Yao? The centers I can think of are Camby, Okur, and maybe Miller. However, Yao averages more points than any of those guys, a better field goal percentage, and is just lower than Camby in rebounds and blocks. Can anyone give me any legit reasons why Camby should get starting position over Yao? Camby's a defensive beast sure, but Yao although doesn't average double digit in rebounds, he's sure as hell close to it and although his average in blocks is small in comparison, he still alters a lot of shots and his a defensive presence. Oh, and the whole injury thing isn't null if your argument is for Camby. He's only played three more games than Yao so far.

Not to mention Denver has more wins than Houston, and Camby has been huge for Denver this season (when he's been healthy). EDIT: Also, David Wesley has over 95000 votes. I'm not sure about everyone else, but I know I was thinking 'What the hell?'

All I'm saying is that there isn't too much of a difference between him and Yao to warrant the old "thats what happens when fans vote" argument. Yao's a nice defensive player too and there's no doubt he alters a lot of shots since everyone needs to shoot over him. Its just that it doesn't show up on the stat sheet in blocks. Its not like Yao is a bad rebounder either. He still gets close to 10, so are you saying you wouldn't vote in a 20/10 ish type player for the position?

While HE deserves to be a starter, T-Mac does not this season. I love the guy but he doesn't deserve it this season.

Marcus Camby is 6'11", so you expect Camby to better than Yao in anything. I think Camby should be in it before Yao.

Height cannot be used as an excuse in the NBA though (especially when comparing who is the better player at a position). So please.

Denver has 26 wins, and Utah has 23. Okur, Camby, and Yao have similiar stats, but Houston has only 18 wins. And yes, I am aware Houston has had injury problems, but so has Denver. Ask yourself this, would Yao be voted in as a reserve if he wasn't voted as a starter? I think not.

While Houston mainly relies on its two stars, Denver actually has depth with Miller, Anthony, and Martin all being able to handle the scoring load. Plus, they have Earl Boykins doing an incredible job at sixth man. Meanwhile, Utah is similar except they have less big name players and more hardworking/hustling type players. Houston on the other hand, have been left without McGrady or Yao for some stretches and most of the time, without one or the other. In addition, even some of the guys that would usually step it up when the stars are gone have been injured as well- with Anderson and Alston being out.
none taken, i really want to cry over the fact david wesly got more votes over jrich, please tell me CB4 is coming to houston.
i like okurs game, hes improved a hell of a lot, is the yoaming bashing session over? i think they both deserve it.
