Not many details yet but it's on the NBA page on espn.com Looks like the deal is for Rose and first round pick for Davis. I guess we're cleaning house. Embry seems to be getting things done. It costs us a draft pick but at least we'll have 16 million extra this offseason after Davis' contract expires.
If it was Rose for Davis straight up, then I would like the deal, but I don't like the idea of giving the first round pick to the Knicks. However, Denver will eventually get hot and the pick will end up in the lower to mid 20's, so it isn't that bad of a deal. And I swear to god, if Antonio Davis demands a trade, I'm going to be pissed.
I don't know if I really like this deal. I mean on one hand we get rid of Rose and save 17 million, but on the other, we get a player who might not want to come and we lost a 1st round draft pick.
Well I think it's worth it to lose that first round pick to get rid of Rose. Davis is just here until the end of the year when his contract runs out and he'll want to play alot and play well in TO so he can sign with someone next year. And for whoever accepted Rose with that insane contract in the first place --> OH WAIT..........WE ALREADY FIRED HIM

Arggg, I can't believe we gave up a first rounder. Why not give up the 2nd rounders Who knows maybe it will be a 2009 or 2010 pick protected (j/k) ? Well I like both teams so if it doesn't pan out well for one, it will pan out for the other. For the Raptors, after a few minutes of repose it makes a lot of sense if they want to resign Mike James and land a free agent. Also, with the draft being "weak" and the fact that we really don't need another young player, pursuing a free agent makes a lot of sense.

Thank you Wayne Embry. I think Antonio Davis will add some rebounding and veteran leadership...I hate to give up a 1st round pick, but it's for the best and now we can sign Mike James The Raps lose a a great guy in Rose, but it will pay off in the offseason.
Antonio Davis is gonna be pissed. first he was angry he was traded from chicagp to new york, since his family lived in chicago, now just as he's settled in new York its back to toronto. There's a chance he may retire instead of playing. He almost did that, before the new york trade... ...and most of all he hates the metric system!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting grinder333:</div><div class="quote_post">Oh oh.................tell me why I'm wrong...............</div> If your talking about Babcock, you are wrong.
mixed emotions, we lose Rose who made th game winning shot against the Kings, for a guy who might not report to the team. BUT we have room to sign James and Bosh. I think the key to Bosh staying in Toronto is for them to sign James.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting grinder333:</div><div class="quote_post">Oh oh.................tell me why I'm wrong...............</div> Glen Grunwald, remember? Wow Embry is getting things done in Toronto, that's two trades already in the past week!
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Bobcats:</div><div class="quote_post">If your talking about Babcock, you are wrong.</div> ^^^^agreed, i believe it was Grunwald who accepted the rose contract
Well, I'm guessing it will be Denver's lottery-protected pick so it's not going to be a huge loss. Getting rid of Rose's contract is the big thing here. We would have just wasted another year next season waiting for his contract to come off the books. As for Davis not wanting to come back here, it won't really matter. He's only here for half a season and then he'll be gone. Besides, if we can sign a decent free agent this offseason than Bosh will be more likely to want to sign a new contract with us. This also frees up playing time for us to play and develop Villanueva/Graham. I think this deal was a positive.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Human Highlight:</div><div class="quote_post">Glen Grunwald, remember? At least thats what I think.
Even though Grunwald took on Rose's contract, you have to remember that he was getting rid of Davis' contract at the same time. During the time Rose was here he has been way more productive than Davis has been in New York. Though I am aware that Grunwald was also the one that signed Davis to that ridiculous contract so he's not cleared of the blame either. So far, I'm happy with the moves that Embry has made so far. I wouldn't be against letting him stay on as GM and see what kind of things he can do with the team.
WOW that must really suck for Antonio... coming back to Toronto and all after wanting to get out.. Well i really doubt Antonio will even report to the Raptors, any money he will either retire or demand to be cut like Zo did. Smart move by Embry however i would of tooken Penny instead of Davis..
