We also get cash in this deal, too. Don't know how much though.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I dont know why the Raptors did this deal</div>

It's called a youth movement. It frees up more time and shots for Villanueva, Bosh and Graham while letting the young guys develop their talent and chemistry. The pick isn't that big of a deal, it's a 20-25th overall selection, so it's not that big of a loss. You guys can have your low pick though, I think Toronto will be just happy with a lottery pick, something the Knicks won't have because Isiah is a moron.

Its one of those situations, where two organizations benefited in their own way because of different directions.

The Knicks needed a draft pick this year, to justify their semi-rebuilding. I don't know how Rose will perform, but I'm guessing that Knicks fans don't particularily care. Am I right in saying that Rose's contract probably expires along with a lot of other major ones?

The Raps had ask a tough question in the end. Was the Nuggets pick (likely to be in the 20's) going to be equal to the player/players that extra cap space. This draft, IMO, is comparitively weak and is predominantly guards and swingmen. Also, Embry seems to be doing his part in clearing the playing field for the new GM.

Holy smokes, I saw these two guys leaving teams but I didn't see this coming. Great upgrade for the Knicks, I don't know how Toronto will benefit from this trade.

First of all I can't see how there is a light at the end of the tunnel for Knick fans, because of the bonehead move of Isaih of trading away their now 4th pick overall in the Eddy Curry move.

Secondly, as a Raptor fan I don't want to be the next Chicago Bulls, having like 8 rookies on the roster and trying to go from there, becuase that hardly works.

If we had kept this Nuggets pick, the Raptors would've had 4 sophs, 4 rookies next year. (3 rookies in next years draft + possibly Ukic). This is just way too much youth when we already have enough to build around.

So that's to jutify that. And to the Knicks good luck in rebuilding with Isaih.

When you subtract Davis and add Rose, yes it can.

i like this trade for 1 reason. the fact that jalen can play the pg for NY. Jalen is a point guard whos been forced to put up big numbers (playing out of position) because of his hieght advantage.

If i was brown I'd put rose at the point and let Marbury go to town. rose will be great at setting up curry in the middle. On defence marbury can guard the PG and jalen can guard the sg's. this trade may seem bad but i see it as a decent quick fix seeing that NY despratly needed a PG. When rose was at chicago they had too many PG's now it will be his focus to get the the rest of the team buckets.

    BUt we will see

Jalen cannot play PG for anyone. Stephon, Nate, and Jamal are all better options at the point than Rose. At this stage of his career, he has evolved into a swingman.

somebody said "i hope [Antonio Davis] likes Canada!"
Well it is often voted the nicest country to live worldwide so he can probably deal with it.
this can't be the end of Isaiah's tampering. He has to have a bigger agenda in mind, hopefully moving Stephon. Stephon=Cancer to your team. it's really that simple.

Why can't Rose play PG? I can understand he's not able to defend PGs, but that's why you have Marbury at SG to switch up on the other end. I'm not sure if you saw Rose at Michigan. He was an outstanding PG for the Fab 5, he's a great playmaker in the right system. Larry's offense suits his skillset because it's a grind it out slowed down offense. Rose doesn't have to beat his man off the dribble, and with his height he can look over the top of the defense to dump the ball inside to Curry or hit Marbury slashing across the lane.

Once the Knicks find some players who know how to set screens for Marbury, you'll see a dramatic improvement in their offense.

Well the last time the Raptors experimented with it, the offence didn't move smoothly. Maybe he'll be able to resort to his younger self.

Jalen's style has changed a lot since college, and even when he was with Indiana. Marbury would be a better distributor than Rose, because he tends to hold the ball too long and his offensive game isn't as effective when he's bringing it up himself. Besides, Brown has already stated that they brought him in to fill the swingman position, and the last time Jalen played point (I think) for Brown, it was a disaster.

Rose never played PG for Larry Brown. In Indiana it was always Mark Jackson and Travis Best running the PG and initiating the offense.

Rose would have to bring the ball up then swing it to the right or left until the ball makes it back to him. Then he can re-post, hit the slasher, or call his own number depending on what the defense is giving the Knicks. Larry's offense is all about ball movement, not players dribbling and breaking down their man.

Good trade for the Knicks...they get another ballhandler and some height in the backcourt...Raptors gave up waaaaay too much for AD, they shoulda accepted NY's original offer of Penny...
