Propaganda: 1. The systematic propagation of a doctrine or cause or of information reflecting the views and interests of those advocating such a doctrine or cause. 2. Material disseminated by the advocates or opponents of a doctrine or cause: wartime propaganda. We'll start with the naming of your thread because it's demonstrative of your problem. GrnDynasty's Antipropaganda Thread: It's contradictory. The prefix anti could not function with the word propaganda unless you were unwilling to inflict your opinions on us. You aren't. It's all you do. I suppose you'll try and make this out as an attempt at irony on your part. Good luck. The other problems are even more obvious than that. 1. It's pointless. None of us are overjoyed with the state of the Celtics. For you to assume that we want to listen to your long-winded complaints is ridiculous. Justify something, look for reasoning, write something coherent. Failing those methods, go write in your journal. 2. It's contrarian. Your only principles are to disagree with everything and and to naysay. You share these traits with the beloved Dan Shaughnessy. 3. You are unbelievably arrogant. ("That was sarcasm for the unitiated" (sic)) And not in a good way. In an inferiority complex kinda way. This is further justified by your consistently making archaic comments, i.e Brian Shaw, etc. The point is further proven by your thinking that we care what you think. 4. You frequently make invalid arguments. You cite Red Auerbach as comparing Brian Shaw to a sieve and then later cite Danny Ainge as not being Red Auerbach. Considering your negative opinion of Danny Ainge (oft referred to and a given at this point) this would force us to assume that Red Auerbach is a figure of some positive connotation. But you've already said he made a huge mistake with Brian Shaw. We all know Auerbach's reputation. I assume you do, too. But you contradict yourself. Or did Red Auerbach never accomplish anything in the basketball world? I could dissect your arguments all day long, but I'd never find anything but a big mouth. 5. You are childish. You refer to your age as having some experiential value. If you had attained some advanced or impressive age, that might be relevant. But to assume that your "thirty years" has some greater value than anyone else's is a childish notion in and of itself. "I'm older than you, I'm better..." 6. You never, ever go out on a limb. Yet you say you do. Me and Michael Holley said it was a bad trade. Tons of people have said the same thing. You don't adopt them as constituents, it's just you and Mike (who's middle of the road at best, but that's another story.) a. A corollary of six is that you make vague statements and call them prescient. Perhaps you should start your own religion? That?s usually the vocation for those who make the best vague statements about the future. One. 7. You fail to understand that basketball is a business. It's bad press to admit your own mistakes unless you can correct them. There's only short-term proof that the "trade" was a bad one. Relying on small samples to run a business is how you end up broke, very broke. If you're very lucky this doesn't apply, but it's pretty obvious that Ainge isn't. Luck also runs out. 8. Your understanding of the game (the actual game, not pop psychology, and not money) is pretty basic. I can't even watch the games (I listen), but I can arrive at more complex conclusions than you do. This is an arrogant statement on my part, but it follows. That Doc Rivers isn't a very good coach is obvious. That Perk can rebound and play great defense is obvious. That Al can score is obvious. That young kids are inconsistent is obvious. None of this suggests a deep or respectful understanding of the game. I suppose I'm starting to repeat myself. My final point is this: THINK INSTEAD OF SIMPLY FILLING SPACE WITH YOUR ANGRY WORDS. (and that was sarcasm for the uninitiated.)

Okay....someone is clearly pissed off by me just typing my personal opinions. I called it the Antipropaganda thread becuse I felt that all of the commentators on the Celtics dime were spreading pro trade propaganda and using nonsensical logic to validate the trade to fans. My thread was AGAINST THE PRO WALLY/TRADE PROPAGANDA, hence I called it the Antipropaganda Thread...everything you wrote in regards to the name (?) of my thread was kinda petty. It's all semantics. I'm trying to figure out why all the hostility against me. This entire experience has been an eye opener, it brings me right back to when the Celtics fans turned on Paul Pierce and Antoine Walker during the playoffs..what was I thinking by posting on a board with some of the people that probably called into WEEI and called Pierce a punk and demanded for his trade this summer? The bottom line is THAT is my writing style. It comes off as arrogant when read by certain users but what am I going to do, CHANGE IT? Hell no! If I have differing opinions or viewpoints than others users I don't see a problem with it. The reason I bring up my age so often is because I've been around basketball for a long time, I played streetball, D1 at Morgan State University, coached youth teams and had several friends go off and play pro overseas and in the NBA so I have more knowledge of the culture, and business of basketball than the average armchair fan that never spent hours by themselves shooting jumpers in a gym. Add to that I remember events, players, and eras in Celtic history that some posters didn't live through and don't remember very well. Let me address this part of postpoint's tirade: 4. Read my posts CLOSELY. If you know your Celtics lore and history, you'll see that none of my posts were contradictory OR invalid. In that statement, I was referring to the Celtics and how they can spin a BAD TRADE OR MOVE, I used the example of what Red himself said back when they moved Brian Shaw, which was a BAD MOVE as well. He ALSO said that Antoine Walker "never came to camp in shape" after they traded him. Would you like to hear what he said after the Chauncey Billups, Bruce Bowen, and Joe Johnson deals? Red Auerbach is a great basketball mind, but even HE isn't above spinning a questionable deal...THAT'S the point I was making...I guess you were just too filled with hate to actually read what I wrote. As for Red Auerbach's ability to MAKE DEALS...THAT IS LEGENDARY. The deals that brought Bill Russell, Larry Bird, Robert Parish, Kevin McHale, Paul Silas, Dennis Johnson, Bill Walton, etc. were amazing. Drafting all of those legendary players that everyone else slept on (like Dave Cowens) clearly shows that he was a mastermind. I said that DANNY AINGE DOES NOT HAVE THAT KIND OF ABILITY. Is that contradictory on my part in any way? No. Is that an invalid point that fans have trust in Ainge to make a big move to put the Celtics in contention even though his track record is WORSE THAN SUSPECT? No. What did I do to piss you off so much that you couldn't even read my post correctly? I have realized that posting here was a damn mistake. I figured I'd run into Celtic fans that were as passionate about the game as I am and liked to write about it... I found more Celtic fans on OTHER non sports sites! What does that tell me? I quickly understood why FEW people like myself post on boards like this. I'm done wasting my time posting here, this was a serious dissapointment. Considering that when I first starting posting there was excitement about the upcoming season and A LOT MORE POSTERS. Once the C's starting losing regularly, THEY ALL BOUNCED. There were less than 4 regular posters here, but I stuck it out and kept my thread going. I've seen postpoint post about 5 times in the last 4 months. Between H.ayes, postpoint, Squishface, 44 Thrilla and myself WHO ELSE HERE IS A REGULAR POSTER? They even only post here once in a blue moon! All I did was have a differing opinion from...well, everyone here about this deal. I can have better conversations about the Celtics/basketball with people in barbershops, at basketball courts, in sub shops, etc. than I can ON A BASKETBALL MESSAGEBOARD? That's sad. I removed all of my threads from this board so you all can feel free to agree with each other about trivial subjects and post once about every three days. The sad thing is that no one's even gonna read THIS until Monday! I type one at the end of all of my posts because where I'm from (South End/Roxbury) it's what you say at the end of a conversation...it's short for "One Love"..it's use is common among people from the city, clearly most of you are UNFAMILIAR with it's usage. This was a really big dissapointment and waste of time...see if you get anyone else to actually even care enough to post here regularly. I don't want to be here anymore and you (ALL) CLEARLY didn't want me here anymore, either. One.

One.
The only thing you're passionate about is hating on the organization that you supposedly love and being a constant pessimist. I really don't see how that qualifies you as a fan, added to the fact that you openly admitted to the recent trade being the "last straw" and giving up on the team.
Or worse. I'm not trying to drive anybody out, I'm just trying to stop the hating. And writing style is one of the easiest things in the world to change. You can edit.
GrnDynasty is entitled to be a "hater" as much as any C's fan is entitled to see the world through pink tainted spectacles...Its just makes for a more interesting and diverse discussion... I'm sure his current state of feelings about the C's only stems from the fact that we are god damn awefull at this point in time...the positives are few and far between... Seeing Nurse Rivers coach this team is enough to make any grown man cry...
You'll get no argument from me on that account. I know this team is bad. I'm just sick of hyperbole. I suppose it's anyone's right as a fan to do nothing but complain, but it's awful hard to listen to. I suppose I'm not a very good Boston fan. Everyone's been caning Doc all year long, and he deserves it. The team is still playing the games out for him, but I wonder at what point they give in like the Lakers did last year.
