That's why Embry, along with a $3 million check to the Knicks from Raptors ownership, was willing to part with the first-round pick (via Denver) that Babcock clung to. As for the sidekick search, file away this name: Nene. Denver's injured power forward/center will be a restricted free agent this summer and a target for any team with salary-cap space, with Chicago and Atlanta already known to be interested. But the Raptors just added themselves to the short list of clubs that might be able to put forth an offer that the Nuggets deem too rich to match or (more likely) forces Denver into a sign-and-trade & especially if Embry can follow through on his efforts to move swingman Eric Williams before the Feb. 23 trading deadline. Something else you should know: Nene has some little-known Canadian ties.</div> http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/stor...marc&id=2318118 I think nene would be a perfect compliment to Bosh, he'd give him protection from all the bangers, as well the raps could have a decent twin towers scenario in the post.

Problem was, he didn't keep it. Speaking of Carter, he just completed a triple double in a win vs. Miami and is playing like a league MVP.... god it sucks being a raps fan As for Nene, I would love to have him on our team and I also wouldn't mind overspending for him (assuming it's not too much)...... I gotta admit though, that knee injury does worry me a bit.

As for Carter, he's not having an MVP season...but he's just really performing much better this time. Chris Bosh is having a much better year than Carter in my book.
^my bad... I meant to write that he looked like a league MVP, as in, just for that game. But if he continues to play like that and if the Nets get their act together, I'm sure he could contend for mvp.... but that's just too many if's though.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting MAKEOUTCITY:</div><div class="quote_post">.....Nene...he has a history of injuries. </div> That's what I've been thinking. Within the last two years he has had two major injuries. It would be nice for Araujo but I don't know if I like it for the Raptors organization.

Is Toront really trying to have a roster made up of absolutely nothing more than >25 forward/centers?
I think it will be best to see if Nene can still produce at a high level. Unless he can prove himself, I say don't rush into things unless he's willing to sign for the MLE at most. I know the Raptors are lacking a decent center right now, but I don't think someone like Nene would be the answer, especially with his history of injuries. The best thing I can think of would be to draft a good center in the draft. Perhaps get Paul Davis? He's having a pretty good year and in high school he was ranked ahead of Amare Stoudemire, so he definitely has some talent. Or maybe even Shelden Williams although he'll be undersized at only 6'9". Bottom line is unless he's getting something around the MLE, Nene wouldn't be a good investment.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dunksworth:</div><div class="quote_post">I honestly can't tell if ur being sarcastic here.... and y did u add Jalen Rose into the mix??</div> No, just pointing out that THAT is what we got for Carter.....and it sucks. I added Jalen because he was shipped off with VCs #1 draft pick to NY. When we traded VC we got 2 first round draft picks....(one was used on Joey Graham, one was shipped out with Rose) Zo Mourning (bought out) We got Aaron Williams (shipped out for 2 2nd round draft picks) Eric Williams....the player who looks like he bangs his head against the wall nightly because he plays for the Raps. What the hell IS that bump on his head anyways?? And AD and his expiring contract. Now, I wanna hear Babcock say he would have done the trade over again...it was the best available. Yah, NO....I don't think so.

I don't know if Nene is a true enough center for the Raptors. Does anyone see Nene who could share how Nene plays offensively and defensively? I think we should also make sure his knee is in good shape before we give him anything more than 3 years.

Please expand, anyone can call a player overatted. Who is overatting him, and what exactly is being overatted about him?
