Well, Philly just cleared a space on their roster, and it looks like a trades gonna be happening.. 2 for 1 or 3 for 2 What do you think they could do? AI is a probable candidate for trade
Webber has a player-option to terminate his contract after next season. I don't see him exercising that option unless he just absolutely cannot stand playing in Philly. I just don't see him passing up that much money... unless he truly wants to win a ring and is willing to put his ego aside (unlikely) and come off a contender's bench. As for the Sixers, I don't see many big moves coming. The only two realistic moves that I foresee are a trade to bring in Eric Williams from Toronto (for the trade exception if the Hunter trades goes through), and signing Tim Thomas if he is bought out by the Bulls (50-50 chance of that happening). Somebody did call into 610 WIP (Philly radio station) this morning and say that a reliable source said that Pierce and Delonte West are close to coming to Philly... but the "source" is only a poster on the Philly.com message boards, so there is no real truth behind that rumor.

Lakers??? maybe C-Webb for Odom?</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Webber has a player-option to terminate his contract after next season.</div> Damn. I was hoping it did expire after next season because I'd take Webber for Odom any day if the contract ended then. As for AI... I think Philly would be smart to move him now but ONLY if they get fair value in return. I know that's near impossible but AI value will never be higher. He's playing the best basketball of his career and is on the downward side of his prime (weird huh?). Philly must realize that they are getting as far as they can get with him at the helm.
Billy King and Ed Snider don't have the balls to trade AI. Too many negative things will come about it that I didn't think of before. But, if the deal was right, I'd still pull the trigger.
First of all Allen Iverson is gonna be a Sixer till he decides to retire. This Philadephia team really doesnt need much but a Eric Williams to come off the bench and help them score a bit. The Sixers are expected to activate Gerald Green and we all know how good he is. The Sixers could be the sleeper in the East this season, Iverson has been struggling as of late but Chris Webber has been averaging pretty good numbers, 19 ppg and 9 rpg, thats awesome!!!. This team really only needs some help off the bench.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting PUREPOINT:</div><div class="quote_post">here's a trade: give up Webber, Dalembert, Korver and some draft picks and anyone else for GARNETT.</div> Well, there's $27M odd right there in those three guys.

Boston Trade Breakdown Outgoing Paul Pierce 6-6 SG from Kansas 26.0 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 4.5 apg in 39.0 minutes Delonte West 6-4 PG from St. Joseph's 11.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg, 4.3 apg in 33.3 minutes Incoming Allen Iverson 6-0 PG from Georgetown 33.3 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 7.4 apg in 43.4 minutes Steven Hunter 7-0 C from DePaul 4.9 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 0.3 apg in 17.6 minutes Change in team outlook: +1.1 ppg, -4.5 rpg, and -1.1 apg. Successful Scenario Due to Philadelphia and Boston being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Philadelphia and Boston had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Id love to get Pierce and West for AI. Would it mean more wins? Not on the paper but you saw how the team played when AI wasn't playing and chemistry seemed to be very good on the team so you won't know till the trade is made.
That was the rumored trade, yes, but I don't see it happening. The Celtics are very high on Delonte, and I don't see them trading him any time soon... Also, why in the hell would both GM's trade their star players to a division rival? It makes absolutely no sense. And, if Billy King was EVER to trade AI to the Celtics, I would personally fly up to Philadelphia, go into his office, and bitch slap him.
