<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Rumor has it that a four team deal is brewing between Orlando, New York, Portland and Denver. The headliner of the deal is Steve Francis' long awaited arrival in Denver and Larry Brown getting his man Theo Ratliff. Also expected to be involved in the deal is Nene, Earl Watson, Ruben Patterson, Quentin Richardson, Anfernee Hardaway and Trevor Ariza. Hardaway and Ariza will most likely end up in Portland, Nene and Richardson is expected to head to Orlando, Watson is expected to head to NY along with Patterson. Other players might be involved.

    Incoming Denver
    Francis

    Outgoing Denver
    Nene, Lenard, & Watson

    Income New York
    Watson, Ratliff, Patterson

    Outgoing New York
    Penny & Ariza

    Incoming Orlando
    Nene, Lenard and QRich

    Outgoing Orlando
    Francis </div>

And of course Vecsey's disclaimer ...

"Everyone is on board with the Francis trade but one team," asserted one of the participants, declining to divulge its identity. "Something's either going to get done or it'll be dead within the next 48 hours."

If Isiah can pull off this deal, the Knicks really make out like bandits with Watson & Ratliff.

This would be a big trade for Denver but, it seems they lose too much for Francis.

not really they lose a problem in lenard they would lose nene without him playin another game for them in the summer.so basically they are trading a point guard who is taking mins away from their two main points. watson for francis looks pretty good to me

This is confusing... Im tired of hearing that NY always get the best out of every trade!!!!.....
This trade seems confusing it doesnt even say who Portland get.. and where does Q-rich come from???.. On the Ny outgoing it only says Ariza and Penny..

How does Ny get rid of Ariza and Penny and get Earl Watson, Ruben Patterson, and Theo Ratliff....

How did Ny get a 1st round draft pick, undisclosed amount of cash, and jalen rose for just antonio davis????
    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ dumbest trade ever..

Ny is very smart.. They get the best deal every single team

    ^^^ Very unfair [IMG]

    It's about expiring deals.

Antonio Davis' contract expires this year, just as Penny's does, which makes them extremely valuable because teams like to have as little financial commitment as possible.

Toronto keep Jalen and they have $15M or so of guaranteed money to pay out next year, but by trading him they effectively rid themselves of that commitment which allows them room to go after an FA this year, or just simply reduce their cap.

NY have a ridiculously high payroll, and all the Rose deal (and this one if it happens) does is just mean they've got a continued huge payroll for the future.

Orlando is the ones making out like bandits. TO get rid of Steve Francis who is a Marbury-like problem child and get Nene, QRich and Voshon Lenard. Wow. they got shooters and a big man.

Each of those guys have issues though.

Nene is injury prone, Q-Rich has personal problems and Voshon hasn't shown anything since his knee injury.

Not feelin it. Steve Francis isnt the type of player thats gonna make Denver any better. The Knicks are done for this season but maybe next season Watson and Ratliff can make a big impact on the team.

As for the Blazers, why the hell would they want Trevor Ariza, when they have Darius Miles, Travis Outlaw, and Martell Webster to worry about?[IMG]

    Denver Trade Activities

[IMG] [IMG] Heres a take on it all:
    "Denver Nuggets:
While the Nuggets have been on a tear recently, the fact remains is that the Nuggets are always a terrific regular season team since Carmelo Anthony has arrived there. The issue with the Nuggets is that they are a one dimensional team offensively. If Carmelo Anthony gets shut down, Kenyon Martin and Marcus Camby aren?t low post threats and Andre Miller doesn?t have a consistent perimeter shot. Earl Watson has been a pleasant surprise considering the fact that he is playing behind two great point guards in Earl Boykins and Miller. The Nuggets need a shooting guard desperately. They have no consistent threat behind the arc and teams will zone defend them in the playoffs. Also, consider the fact that this is Kiki?s last season under his contract with the Nuggets and he wants to make a splash before he has to negotiate with the Nuggets and other teams.

    Whose on the block:

Andre Miller, Earl Watson, Nene, Kenyon Martin.

    Possible Targets:
Steve Francis, Flip Murray, Morris Peterson, Mike Dunleavy Jr, Paul Pierce, Al Harrington, Ray Allen, Quentin Richardson.
    Likeliness of making a deal: 65% "
