Obviously you were not watching the game....All Billups did, was get him with a back-down move. But otherwise, Louis Williams pressed him pretty effectively, and is one of the reasons, he shot 2-10. Diseal: Nor am I impressed with MO, I'm disgusted. The charlotte Bobcats, got more chemistry and passion for the game, then our bench.

I guess Louis Williams was a bigger reason for Billups' shooting woes than him just being wide-open half the time and missing easy buckets, huh?

And even if Billups only used one move to get Louis, that is more than enough, isn't it? If you keep scoring on a guy (or getting past him) with one move, of course you are going to keep doing it until he stops it, aren't you?

Being a "very good ball handler" is not too hard. You HAVE to be one if you want to be a guard in the NBA. Natural scorer? Maybe, but he hasn't had enough playing time to show that to me.

Louis Williams has the ability and athletic gifts to be a great NBA player down the track. If he continues to develop behind the veterans and learns what he can from them, then he will do very well. He could be an AI type player with the right attitude and devlopment program. I have liked what I have seen of him thus far. Ball handling and shooting and even passing the basketball. He has all the tools, he just needs to develop them and learn from the best. I think he is in the best environment with AI, Ollie and Mo Cheeks all knowing what it takes to play point guard in the NBA so he has a head start. He should start logging more minutes in the NBA rather than putting him back to the D league to continue this growth.

He shut down Billups? You must be talking about NBA Live. I don't have much to say regarding this other than the fact that I look Shav and Lou for who they are. But to even think we may have to potentially rely on these guys for now gives me nasty feeling in my stomach.

Who here really should even be able to say if he has the tools to be a star or not ... none of you know, so instead of saying some bs like "he doesn't have the tools" just say you DON'T THINK he's going to become a star. I bet you he doesn't give a flying monkey what you think... because it doesn't matter what you think .. anyone can become what they work @... I'm not talking about a 5'3 basketball player trying to make it in the nba. I'm talking about a 6'1 .. long... athletic player... if he works as hard as Kobe, he'll be a star.

Did anybody ever definitively say he doesn't have the tools?

And speaking of that, then I think people here also cannot say for sure that he DOES have the tools to become a star... only that they THINK he does.

I've asked what these "tools" were, and all I've gotten in response is "a very good ball handler" and "a natural scorer." [IMG]

First off, i dont really think that being a talented ball handler in the NBA is that easy. I'm sure it takes alot of work and some natural talent to go along with that. Granted I really havent seen a whole lot of LW because i live in MI, but what i have seen has impressed me for a rookie out of high school. With the limited minutes that i've seen from him, he seems like he most definately has the talent to become something great. Not to mention he has a good 15+ years in him to play in the NBA. thats alot of time to develope. and IN MY OPINION i think he will.

Man yall are too hard on Louis..lol....he is actually a decent ball handler, and he knows how to score..he's just not going to get BIG pt this season obviously unless somehow AI and Ollie get injured...but we don't want that.

But I didn't catch the fire Cheeks part, a definate NO to that one..I'm sure he will have a bigger role next year, patience is a virtue, I wan't himt to get more time now also, but I guess it's not be that way(for most of this season). But he'll DEFINATELY play a bigger role next season..I'd be suprised if he didn't.
