I made bold predictions about the Rockets winning 60 games, and I was flat out wrong. I admit it, and I stand by it. But nobody in they right mind would have expected for the WHOLE starting line up to be dismantled. I mean we have Lonnie Baxter starting lol. Hopefully, we can turn the season around and atleast make the playoffs.

Actually, Baxter never started a game, but yes, you're right. Wesley is the only player this season who has appeared in every game and at one point, we had just seven players (I think). It's a ridiculous amount of injuries that no team can come over.

Don't worry about being wrong bro, no one can be perfect. (although Swift isn't what you predicted, either) [IMG]

The funny thing is that this team could still win 48 games (going 29-5 the rest of the way)...this season can still be salvaged...

Will you admit everything I said about Swift was right too? I remember when I posted in this forum this summer. It went something like this (just a summary of a multipage debate) -

Me: Stromile Swift is lazy and inconsistent, and he won't change in Houston.
Everyone else: Stromile Swift is not lazy, he's not inconsistent, and he'll give the Rockets the best trio in the NBA.

Can I get some bragging rights yet?

    Yea he sucks, so what.

I am a huge Rockets fan STATING STROMILE SWIFT SUX. He is a BUST. He is trash. He is less than Kwame, he is less than Yao during his rookie season, and worse than he was last season.

But he is sure as hell worth 5 million if not more. For a PF that gives you what he puts on the table he is worth it. What other PF can you get in the NBA that only cost 5 million a year and does what he does.

Do you guys feel happy now? Good thing you let him go.

At least we didn't waste a good draft pick on him, and end up in the same place 6 years later (with Warrick).

Darius Songaila makes about $2.5 million a year. Eduardo Najera makes $4 million a year. Antonio McDyess makes $5 million a year.

The type of money Swift makes is similar to Udonish Haslem and more than McDyess. I'm pretty sure anyone would take those two over Swift. Fact is, Swift is not a bargain even at $5 million. Also, don't be fooled by the $4.9 million right now. Swift's contract escalates over 5 years and his mean is $6 million a year, meaning we'll be paying him $7.5+ million in his last year of his contract, at age 31.

That's all you can do? Take a shot at a the Grizzlies' 2000 draft pick? Not only did that team have a different General Manager, but it wasn't even in the same damn country. Besides, have you ever really looked at that draft? Most of the lottery picks are either out of the league or burried on some bottom-dweller's bench. The only player who turned out to be worth anything out of that group is Mike Miller, and he would up on the Grizzlies anyway. Besides, we didn't have to pay Stromile Swift as much as you guys are paying him. And Hakim Warrick is a completely different player. He's similar physically, and they're both very athletic and great dunkers, but Hakim Warrick's got a completely different skill set and a much better work ethic.

Ya, you were on point, but also, silly me for thinking JVG would open his offense a bit considering he got 3 quicker players who thrive in transition...I dont think Swift is a complete failure for us but he's just gotta grasp the system quicker...
