<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">With the NBA trade deadline 15 days away, Rod Thorn says there is more talk than usual, but the Nets' president thinks getting from talk to action will be difficult. Thorn is not in a panic. He would like to improve the team, but is happy, right now, with what he has and is not likely to break it up to make a minor adjustment. Meanwhile, rumors of Nets' interest in Kevin Garnet never seem go away, fueled this time by trade deadline speculation on which NBA superstar might be traded.</div> http://www.nj.com/sports/ledger/index.ssf?...1350.xml&coll=1
It doesn't really trouble me all that much that we're not making a move. Thorn's a mastermind. He knows that it's going to be hard for the team to obtain a big man, and so he's patiently waiting until a good deal is proposed. He's in no rush because we're starting to play consistently. I am worried about what would happen if their weren't any roster changes before the deadline though. The team needs a big desperately if they want to compete. I think Thorm and Stefanski should pull for Wilcox or Ely, but I know teams aren't budging to trade for Jackson, McInnis, or Planinic. It's a stretch, but it would be great if management at least tried to pry away Gooden from the Cavs.
