This is kind of off topic, and I'm not sure if you guys ever read The Sport's Guys column on ESPN, but he wrote some truthful yet hurtful (as a fan) comments about the W's in his NBA piece.

I've been reading his work since 2001 and have always found him humerous and insightful, but today it was kind of a shot of reality, especially now after reading the comments about this game.

    The link is: http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...=simmons/060208

    The quote is:

If one more media person claims that Baron Davis is a "tough omission" from the 2006 All-Star team, I'm going to throw up all over my Zarko Cabarkapa. Watch G-State some time -- they have some nice pieces (Murphy, Biedrins, Richardson, Fisher, Pietrus, Diogu), but there's Baron dribbling the ball for 20 seconds, hoisting bad 3s and single-handedly killing them in close games. It's like somebody shrunk Antoine Walker and gave him his own team. If you're wondering why the Warriors went 8-19 before winning their last two games, look no further. I'd rather have Speedy Claxton for one-fourth the price.

(While we're here, congrats to the Warriors for giving Mike Dunleavy Jr. an inexplicable $45 million contract extension that doesn't kick in until next July ... and then watching him stink the joint out so violently that they had to bench him last week. Now that's comedy. The thing is, Isiah Thomas and Rob Babcock knocked our "Wow, what a terrible GM!" senses so out of whack that the Dunleavy extension doesn't seem so bad by comparison. But it was mind-blowingly bad. You have to believe me.) </div>

Worst refs I have seen in at least a year, and I'd already saw games where mere incompetance can't explain the FT difference. The Warriors are not a bang and hack team, and the Wiz were getting away with stuff[IMG] SOME FT gap can be just a coincidence but there was a 20-3 ft difference in the 4th though I just could not see but a handful of REAL fouls. The league has allowed a huge gray area when it comes to "initiating contact" or the line between a charge and a block. That gives a BAD ref the liscence to tilt the game,to create an outcome,or at least win some $$ off the point spread. How the F--k can Monty teach Biedrens the rules if the refs insist on calling them backwards? How can we ask Monta to play good D when he gets whistled for being "somewhat nearby" We could have put a jug of Gatorade on the floor tonight and it would have been in foul trouble by the 4th quarter. Lets get the bookies out of the ref business before this turns into TV Rasslin'[IMG] stupid refs...[IMG] Why do I EVER think it will change? Stupid me[IMG]

I would like to see 3 things:

    1. The Warriors get on the same page and start being more assertive. When Jason was gone, the team had players step up and be more assertive. Though Jason Richardson is playing well, it really seems as if people don't know how to work together to produce constant offense.

    2. Better preparations and strategies from the coaches. I believe the coaching staff must prepare better before games. There are no matchup startegies at all prepared before games. The Warriors were late to think about putting Monta on Boykins the other night. And now they either have no faith or something in Ike Diogu, as the Warriors missed out on Diogu getting the chance to show his offensive skills against a weak post defender in Jamison, or exceed with his versatility and skills against Ruffin. I don't understand why this is, but the Warriors look to out Sun the Suns, out Wizard the Wizards, out Pacer the Pacers, etc. This is part of the reason why this team doesn't have so much of an identity.

    3. This isn't new, but I still don't like the 4 perimeter player lineup on the court, where Dunleavy becomes the 4. There is just too many players on the perimeter, the spacing is bad, and really those four aren't the greatest long range shooters in the NBA. And it again hurt the Warriors on the defensive glass.

As for the officiating. I don't know what to say. A lot of times it's just the refs blowing the whistle too soon. Other than that, I don't know if it was too much of an impact on the game.

24 freethrow advantage to the Wiz, that sums it up.

What a coincidence! I want to see three things as well.
    1. No Foyle
    2. No Fisher
    3. No Monty

Someone posted the article on Mullin being fired and I'm starting to sway in that direction....seriously.

Didn't understand putting Dunleavy at the 4 in the last 4 minutes of the 3rd qtr. Did n't give them much offensively, little rebounding and Jamison had 2 quick baskets in what was a quiet night for AJ.

Looks like the Warriors ran into some foul trouble. Also, it's the same case again, we got out-rebounded a little bit, shot way too many three pointers, and we left some points at the line. I don't know why we play so small... the only reason I can think of is we need the dribble penetration. Still, this just sucks. We need a starting center. We gave Pietrus the start, okay, that's fine. Now somebody needs to gun for Foyle's job. One thing has been consistent with Adonal Foyle's 8 years here. He hasn't done jack for us unless he's coming off the bench. He never wins tip-offs, he'll probably never out-rebound anybody he's matched up with.
