Since the Sonics refuse to play defense, or even acknowledge that there IS such as thing as defense in the game of basketball...

I suggest we start a Sonic Killer of the night poll to see who burns us tonight...

    A) Chris Paul
    [IMG] Desmond Mason
    C) David West
    D) PJ Brown

I'm going to plump for David West, with Paul to end up with 15-18 assists.

Will somebody on the Sonics coaching staff please get it over with and tell Ray Allen to stop taking such horrible shots? Hell, I'll do it if they want.

    Better question:

Will Rick Sund please make a deal that will keep our terminally ill team on life support?

We are f*cking horrible. And Bob Hill is a f*cking joke of a coach.

Unless we are able to make some incredible moves in the next two weeks and up until the offseason I am convinced that this team will be relocated.

Got to love Bob Hill's 6-13 record since he has relieved Bob Weiss of his duties. I wonder how much our defense/team continuity has improved since Jan. 2 too.

I feel like Jim Mora when talking about this team:

    Playoffs?!?!
    Playoffs?!?!

I'm just trying to win a game.

    Playoffs?!?!

    I hate this f*cking team.

I'm so turned off by the Sonics this season. It's not even the losing... it's the utter incapability to execute in any facet of the game. Nothing they do makes me want to keep watching their games. I'm already getting excited for the draft because it's almost a lock that we're going to land a top 5 pick.

Weiss sucked, Hill sucks, McMillan was the right coach for the job. We need to duplicate Nate's presence in the off-season. No more promoting guys already in the system because our entire franchise right now is horrid.

Lets make some deals and sign someone who can come in and chew these guys out. They are incapable performing even averagely with our current setup.

If we want a coach who will call a spade a spade, then I'd recommend Paul Silas. Hell, he was my choice when Nate left, and at least he has some emotional connection with this franchise. Bob Hill does not give a **** about Seattle basketball.

I just wanna see a freakin change in this team!!! AHH!! There are rumors everywhere...two with the Knicks. One has us sending Ray Allen to NY for Nate Robinson and J-Crawford. But...the salaries don't match. Another one is NY sends Penny Hardaway here for Reggie, Flip, and Vitaly. Again...the salaries don't match.

Do we want to let Allen go? Rumor has it the Sonics are wanting to get rid of Allen's salary because of their financial issues........man, what a mess.

Personally, my first hire would be Terry Porter as head coach.

He has NW connections, was a fierce competitor as a player, and performed very admirably in his first two seasons in Milwaukee. His first season he overachieved dramatically and his second season he had some injury issues, some bad moves by management, and some free agent saga. I don't think he deserved what happened to him in Milwaukee and I think he has the character to instill some pride in these fa*got ass muthaf*ckas.

I would also look to trade Ray Allen if I was the Sonics b/c his contract is the largest and the longest on the books. There are only two players on this roster that are untradeable and they are Robert Swift and Johan Petro. Everyone else can be dealt but the problem is that most of our players are on such short term deals that no team is interested in renting their services for a half year/one year.

Trade Ray and Nick Collison to Golden St. for Derek Fisher, Ike Diogu, Zarko Carbarkapa, and a pick. I'm sure that the math is close and we would have some cap relief along with the promise of some promising prospects. Fisher could play along side Ridnour at times and you wold get a return on your investment with Wilkens. Plus when all of our qualifying offer free agents bolt next season we could have room to fill some holes in free agency.

    Sonics

    Luke Ridnour/Derek Fisher
    Damien Wilkens/Ron Murray
    Rashard Lewis/Vlad Radmanovic/Zarko Carbarkapa
    Ike Diogu/Reggie Evans/Clinton Moore
    Robert Swift/Johan Petro

    Baron Davis/Monta Ellis
    Ray Allen/Pietrus/Chaney
    Jason Richardson/Dunleavy
    Murphy/Collison
    Adonal Foyle/Biedrins

The trade looks much better for Seattle than it does Golden State but I guess if the Warriors were looking to make a push it would make sense to include a 5 time All-Star in Ray Allen--especially considering how potent of a guard tandem those three could be. Maybe Pietrus could play some back up point ala Damien Wilkins.

We can really dump payroll and develop young guys with that line up. The only drawback is that we would lose a good young player in Collison but in this business you have to give up something to get something (or get nothing which the Sonics would love in order to dump payroll).

There's another rumour that has us sending Pot, Flip and Reggie to Orlando and getting back Earl Watson and Nene in a three way deal. Two things make it likely crap though - I don't think the salaries work (as Denver get Francis) and Peter Vecsey "reported" it.

If Golden State wouldn't trade Diogu for Ron Artest, they ain't trading him for Ray Allen and his contract.

I actually don't like that trade for SEA. I don't want any part of D. Fisher's deal - and Diogu is solid, but his rebouding #'s aren't that great and he isn't much of a shotblocker. He scores really efficiently, but is a far far far cry from can't miss I think. The pick isn't likely to be very good either.

I'd rather see us continue to tank, keep Ray and Nick, and draft Sheldon Williams. Or at least make a play for Channing Frye and the Knicks pick, which will likely be better and Channing #'s are better across the board and he has the size to play both PF and C.

Maybe an Anfernee Hardaway, C. Frye, #1 for Ray/Nick/Moore/two 2nd's

Instant cap room, a very solid, young replacement for Nick, and 2 #1's in the upcoming draft. Plus it gives us 1 1/2 years to find out if Lew is ready to halfway carry a team and deserving of a max deal.

Thats only though if your of the thinking that this group will never make a serious run with Ray as our primary option (or by the time the surrouding group is ready, he'll be past his prime). I'm still on the fence a bit, and would like to hang on a bit longer.

    Would anyone do this deal???

I use Dean Oliver's formulas to calculate my stats...

Hill's offensive rating is up (which is GOOD) less than a point per 100 possessions over Weiss and his defensive rating is up (which is BAD) almost 3 points per 100 possessions. That means teams are scoring almost three points more in the same number of possessions against the Sonics than they did before.

It is just getting worse every game of late.

I think we just stick with a 2-3 zone the entire game. The whole frickin' 48 minutes.

I like Channing Frye as well. The Knicks seem to be desperate to make a deal. I also really like Nate Robinson....if there was a package put together with Frye and Nate in it....I personally would give it a serious thought. Of course a Penny Hardaway would have to be in the deal as well.

I don't know though...I like Ray and all but...he's just been jacking up shots. Not only him...the whole bloody team. Hopefully we can add some pieces that can help this team as soon as they arrive. That might not happen this season though....or next.......
