Mark Cuban: "I own Phil Jackson"

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">For whatever reason, I have gotten to Phil so completely and thoroughly that every time he comes to Dallas he has to offer unsolicited comments about me to the media. I wonder if he dreams about me the nights he spends here in Dallas. Ok, I dont wonder. Im curious about it.</div>

This is from cubans Blog, he's responding to the comments made about him having the refs in his back pocket. i sense a new NBA feud emmerging. He must have a lot of free time.

Cuban's an obnoxious ignoramous that got lucky in the dot.com boom.

Look at the last 5 years every sign indicates that it's Phil that owns Cuban.

Cuban's pocket is talking, not him. He is very arrogant about his wealth and needs to learn when to talk and when to keep quiet. He is not a basketball pro, he's just an owner.

Cuban is nothing, Cuban probably is jealous that Phil has rings and he doesn't one of these days he'll find out that he shouldn't have said that.

Mark Cuban is an ass. See, he's the reason owners should have nothing to do with the team. He's the reason the owners should be up in some executive suite, sipping a latte, trying to figure out why his team are the Indianapolis Colts of the NBA. Real good, always a threat, never a championship! How do you figure you own Phil Jackson? I mean, I haven't been a Phil fan after he wrote a book about kobe. But, how do you as an owner, never a player, never a coach, own someone who has one championships outside of the executive's booth? In fact, with that aside, how do you own someone when your team has the best record in the conference but a 1 - 2 record against the team you would play if the playoffs started today? He's an abuse of power, Cuban is. It's funny how when players are outspoken and say ridiculous things, it's never considered 'tongue in cheek'. Their arrogant, overpaid, blah blah blah. But an owner can come out and say he 'owns' a hall of fame coach and then say 'I was just joking' and that's that. Do you think the lack of media reaction would be the same if Ron Artest came out and said 'I own Larry Bird'?

I like Cuban. He's smart, and he made the Mavs a huge financial success. They've sold out every home game for, what, the last 4 years? The Mavs were absolutely terrible in the 90s, and he's helped make them one of the best teams in the league the last 4 or 5 years. After the Lakers, San Antonio, Detroit, and maybe New Jersey -- which team in the past 5 years has been more successful?

Yeah, he's kind of annoying on the sidelines, but he's a very good owner. And that he spends the resources to send game tapes on a regular basis about the refs to the league is smart, not dirty.

damn lighten up Empra, Cuban has something that few in this league have - a sense of humor. think about how serious a lot of these guys take their jobs especially the coaches. Have you ever seen Gregg Popovich smile? Or Rick Adelman? Or Jeff Van Gundy? Cuban is great for the league.

I agree Cuban is great for the league but he's gotta stop smoking and calm down. I give props for his business/marketing skills and all that but be a respectful owner. This guy thinks he's a part of coaching staff or maybe he even thinks that he's a basketball player.
By the way, if there's anyone owning anyone, it's KOBE owning the whole mavericks. I don't know if you guys like soccer, but when Ukraine beat Portugal 2-1, Figo said "we got beaten by one man." That's what Kobe does to every team. Ownage.

That pretty much sums up all the hate Marc Cuban has.

The thing I really don't like about him is he starts a fight with someone every time they say something about the Mavs on ihs "blog".

Wow, this guy is big, he pokes fun at people in his "blog." What an idiot. There are probably thousands of our fans waiting for him to cross the street so they can kick his ass.

Why does Phil care that Cuban sends tapes in, The Lakers should be doing the same thing IMO.

I'm not a huge Phil fan, but I admit that he has legit complaints about Cuban. In "The Last Season" Phil wrote about one occasion when the Mavs stayed out all night partying after a win. They blow stuff out of proportion. It's great to take care of your players, but not when you can't get past the WCF every year.

Suddenly I'm craving some Dairy Queen.

Cuban is a serious fucking prick, I bet that dude gives handjobs to refs when he's not jacking off to the mavs.

Seriously he's a total cocksucker and if i ever saw i him i'd bash his ugly head in.

^^ I'd say you need to kick back and chill. You care way too much homie. Mark Cuban just does what he can to win, protect his own players, and make money, I can't fault him for all that. Yet, this is just some lame comment on the internet so who really cares.

Hahaha, I can't believe how sensitive Laker fans are. Cuban is getting exactly what he wants right here in this thread.

He is a marketing genius and brilliant for the game.

I agree, this is exactly Cuban's angle. He likes to push peoples' buttons by being controversial. The media has been trying to fuel another NBA rivalry since the Shaq-Kobe feud ended. I think they hit gold with these two.

Just imagine the ratings if the Lakers & Mavs actually face off in round one of the playoffs.
