<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The Nets' Vince Carter and four Pistons are among the seven Eastern All-Star reserves to be officially announced today, The Post has learned. But in a huge surprise, the Wizards' Gilbert Arenas, the fifth-leading scorer in the league, was left off the reserve squad in voting by Eastern coaches. That could be remedied, however, when Commissioner David Stern personally selects the replacement for injured starter Jermaine O'Neal of the Pacers. Carter joins Pistons Rasheed Wallace, Ben Wallace, Chauncey Billups and Rip Hamilton as reserves. Tayshaun Prince is the only Piston starter not selected. Also on the East's reserve squad are two surprises, from struggling teams Paul Pierce of the Celtics and Chris Bosh of the Raptors. Besides O'Neal, fans voted as East starters: Shaquille O'Neal and Dwyane Wade of the Heat, LeBron James of the Cavs and Allen Iverson of the Sixers. The West starters are Houston's Yao Ming and Tracy McGrady, Kobe Bryant of the Lakers, Tim Duncan of the Spurs and Steve Nash of the Suns. The West reserves were not available.</div> http://www.nypost.com/sports/63247.htm
there is no way sheed should be considered, and i like rip but he doesn't belong on the team over arenas
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting babybulls:</div><div class="quote_post">there is no way sheed should be considered, and i like rip but he doesn't belong on the team over arenas</div> So a guy who leads the team with the best record in scoring doesn't deserve to make It? please, The league rewards guys who are on great teams and the pistons are having a great season. Arenas is on a bad team which is why he is getting snubbed. It happens. As for Sheed, with JO out he is the best choice to add some size to the east.
Sheed actually is the most deserving Piston IMO. He never gets the respect he deserves on defense. He is the 2nd best defensive PF in the league next to Tim Duncan. He is 7 feet and can shoot the three. He has a high basketball IQ. He can rebound the ball well. ( Don't get fooled by his 6 RPG, if Ben WAllace wasn't the other big guy he would be getting 10 RPG) This is coming from a guy who can't stand the Pistons.
^^I'm not tryign to hate on rasheed or anything, but who on the trailblazers was taking all of his rebounds when he was there? He's not really the best rebounder to be honest. But until you guys bring up alternatives for 'sheed, and reasons, there's no point in just saying, "sheed sucks, he shouldn't be on the team."
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting TheAnswer2:</div><div class="quote_post">I wanna know if Melo got picked as a reserve. He deserves it..</div> Melo missed out Gasol and Parker made It along with Marion.

Hardly 10 is it?
Rasheed is a verbal leader of the Pistons. He's putting up good numbers this year, how does he not deseve it? Sure, he isn't a mega star, but he is working his ass off and getting the dirty work done.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Locke:</div><div class="quote_post">Sheed's career high in RPG is 8.2. Hardly 10 is it?</div> One again that year he had a great rebounder in Dale Davis on his team who was an amazing rebounder in his prime. Dale Davis had 8.8 RPG. THe Center always has more rebound oppurtunities. Rasheed has always had another great rebounder by his side. He had Sabonis for his first years and then in Sabonish last two years when his minutes were severly limited Dale Davis was the main rebounder. Things didn't get easier for him as he was traded to Detroit alongside Ben Wallace one of the NBAs best rebounders ever. Rasheed is exremely underrated in almost every aspect of his game.
^^ i don't buy the whole playing with another big time rebounder as being an excuse. Playing with another rebounder does not steal enough rebounds a game to make having 6 a game acceptable. TD and David Robinson had no problem averaging 10 a game while playing with each other. Sheed is not better at defense than KG. Rip is averaging 21 pts, i like him, but he is not better than gilbert. To say that because he is leaading the team in points means that he deserves a spot on the all-star team is bogus because the pistons are supposed to be about more than points, and rip is the worst defender on that starting 5. I don't doubt that sheed is the vocal leader of the pistons, but that doesn't make you an all-star, all-stars are about being the best players in the league and sheed is not on that level and i don't care how good of a season the pistons are having, no team deserves 4 all-stars. I agree that the better teams should get all-stars cause of their success but u can't use the success excuse for 4 players, it works w/ maybe 2
