According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinal..... Michael Redd will not be one of the reserves named to the All-Star team later today I guess 25 PPG isn't enough...oh well.
I like Redd, but if Arenas didn't make it, then neither should he. 28 PPG | 4 RPG | 6 APG isn't enough? The Wizards also have an identical record to the Bucks this season.
this is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo damn stupid, beyond pissed off, i wanted michael redd and gilbert arenas to make it this year... wtf is the pistons guards doing in the allstar game they dont deserve it, so what the team have a good record but this is just wrong, there is no freaking way rip hamilton deserve to be an allstar more than gilbert arenas... plus the pistons are already a boring team to watch, wtf is there to watch the asg for when 4 of them are there? and rasheed wallace??????? rasheeeeeeeed wallace??????????????? WTTTTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Billups deserves to be in the game, he's averaging about 19 PPG and 9 APG. Rip on the other hand, no.
I would argue that Chauncey for sure, Rip probably deserved it...but Rasheed...his numbers are similar to Bobby Simmons
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting og15:</div><div class="quote_post">Yup, if Rasheed deserved it, so did Josh Howard and Jason Terry.</div> Amen
I agree Rasheed over guys like Redd and Jason Kidd is a pretty big stretch. Arenas really got jobbed; though he was added today as an injury replacement for Jermaine O'Neal, so at least in some small way his omission was corrected. I really do think Redd deserved it this year; he's only had 6 games all year when he scored fewer than 20 points, he's probably our MVP (honestly, with our usually shaky defense, where would we be without a 25 ppg a night guy?), and he's a leader of a much improved team. Obviously Arenas deserved it more than Redd, but to see Rasheed, and to a lesser extent Rip Hamilton, on the roster and not Redd, is pretty much a slap in the face. I'm not trying to take anything away from the Pistons, but look at things now; Dallas has an almost identical record to Detroit, yet they only have 1 All Star, and the Pistons have 4. The Spurs? 2 All Stars to the Pistons' 4. I think that either Wallace or Hamilton, if not both, should've been left off in favor of a guy like Redd or Jason Kidd.
You need to realise when the coaches voted the Pistons had a far bigger lead on the Mavs and Spurs than they do now. 3 losses in 5 games makes this look far worse than It is. Maybe If Howard and Terry were in the east they may of gotten a spot who knows. The fact they are in the west hurts where there are alot of very good players on good teams putting up numbers.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting NYCfinest123:</div><div class="quote_post">michael redd>>>>>>rip hamilton anyday anytime</div> Just because he has the green light to put up alot of shots where Rip plays more team basketball doesn't make him better. Redd averages more points, more rebounds but Rip leads him in assists, has a better FG%, better, three-point (granted he takes less) and better at the line. So It is far closer than you seem to think. Rip has actually led the Pistons offense and came through in the playoffs in the post season. Talk to me when Redd does that. Bottom line is Rip deserved to make the team due to what he is doing this year in helping the Pistons to the league's best record.
Yes, the Pistons have the league's best record but now, they have a lead on San Antonio by about 3 games... That's 3 games son. S.A has 2 All-stars who are the stars on their team. Not the role players who help them win the games like Sheed and Rip. The stars on Detroit are Chauncey and Big Ben and they rightfully deserve their all-star spots, the other 2 on the other hand were just coaches who were "delusional" about the whole 72 win season, which is absolutly not going to happen anymore.

No 21, 3 and 3 player can ever count as a role player. Certainly not when he has helped take the Pistons to a title with big time scoring in the conference finals and finals before. The selections have nothing to do with 72 wins, It has to do with the great record the Pistons have. When the coaches made their picks the Pistons record was even better than It is right now. Which you seem to have trouble understanding as many others do. So It is obvious why they were picked. Nothing to do with the Pistons chance at 70 wins.
Michael Redd was snubbed, you can make a case for all 4 Pistons making the All-Star team, but I think two players is more than enough representation for one team. I think every team over the .500 mark should have at least one player represented in the All-Star game. IMO Redd should have replaced Pierce on the roster.

If I'm not mistaken the all-star game takes place before the Playoffs. The Playoffs should not be a factor in the all-star game selections. I'm sure you don't really believe Rip is a better 3 Point shooter than Mike Redd just because of his higher 3 PT field Goal Percentage. The only advantage Rip has on Redd is mid range shooting, and defense. Mike Redd also is the Bucks main to guy. I'm sure the Pistons would go to Chauncy Billups in a crucial moment before Rip Hamilton. I just honesylt think Mike Redd is more deserving on an impressive Bucks team with no all-stars than Rip on a team with 3 other all-stars.
mike is a team player too, if you watch the bucks play, when he gets the ball he just don't take any shots, if he sees a low percentage/ill advised shot, he would pass the ball and then run around, if he still can't get a shot then he would pass the ball to any open man available, i bet TONIGHT'S GAME, WHENEVER ray allen gets the ball he just tries to take a shot he will never pass it back to anybody else, he is a big time ball hog... and that's why the sonics are losing
