SI's superbowl pick. A team that beat the champs, the NE Pats. yet they are 1-2. They lost to the Saints and the Dolphins but beat the Patriots. I dont get it. Are they a good team or a bad team? Maybe just an inconsistant team. Because if they are superbowl caliber they should be winning the close games against Miami and the Saints. Thats what champions do.

I am going to have to defend them since I picked them to win the Super Bowl. Saints I think would of beaten anyone that day. They were a team on a mission. Miami isn't as bad as people think. Especially @ home. They look like the 2nd best team in the AFC East. Now the Panthers don't look like a Super Bowl team but it's only week 3 and they are only 1-2. No panic yet. Now if they lose to the Pack @ home then they might worry.

i'm not countin them out but just inconsistant i mean u dont beat the Pats and then lose two close games against teams that definatly arent as good as the Pats if ur a Superbowl contender

The Carolina Panthers are posers. They won't go to the SB, or win the division.

Just wait and see. The panthers team has a history of not waking up till they play the Cardinals(which is like week 6). Last year we were horrible, then we played AZ and went on a huge streak. Once we establish momentum we will do great. Julius Peppers usally doesnt come on untill week 4 or 5.

Next game Ken Lucas and Will Witherspoon will return and they are huge run and cover guys. I just want to see Rod Gardner get on track, he will be a good WR if he can just get some playing time

I don't need to make excuses. If the Falcons lose to the Panthers then they lost because they were outplayed. It won't happen though, so there is nothing to worry about.

No, it is still atlanta. Bucs havent looked as good. Panthers look good and bad, not just from game to game but from quarter to quarter. Cant see a team like that being a contender. Prolly will fight saints for last place

No one has really made themselves legit as the team to beat in the NFC South yet. I mean Tampa is playing great ball but shows weakness in the passing attack. Carolina looks like the team to beat and then shows inconsistency. Atlanta might be the best group of the bunch but Vick is an inconsistent QB. Then New Orleans is just on the bad side of luck right now.

any one of the 4 teams could hit a hot streak and win it all.

the panthers are going to be 4-2 in the next two weeks. They are playing Arizona, and the Lions. Then we have a bye and then we play minnestoa. I know the panthers will beat AZ and lions, Minnestoa will be a test

aw, man, don't pull a tko51 on us by guaranteeing things and putting a hexamaroo on the panthers...the games against the saints and dolphins should have, on paper, been wins, but you see what happened, and the packers came back and almost won...i don't think any game is a definite after what i have seen so far...at this point, the panthers are a .500 team, and they have played like one too...
