<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Is the worm starting to turn? In the wake of the 76ers' awful second half that resulted in Wednesday's 100-92 loss to the league's worst team, the Bobcats, readers have stepped up their criticism of Allen Iverson ? and started in on Sixers icon Maurice Cheeks. After shooting 4-for-9 with five assists for nine points in helping the Sixers build a 12-point halftime lead, Iverson went 5-for-19 with one assist for 11 points as the Sixers were outscored by 20 points in the second half. He launched 13 of the Sixers' 22 shots, most of them jumpers, in the third quarter. ?With Allen, personal goals usurp team goals,? one e-mail read. ?In spite of what he says, winning a scoring title is more important than winning a championship. It has always been that way. ?As far as what happened in the second half at Charlotte, my opinion is he went into the locker room, looked at the stat sheet, and said to himself, "I can't catch Kobe (Bryant in the scoring race) doing this (stuff). I've got to put it up.' And that's what he did. ?Ever ask yourself, why does he want to stay in Philly so badly? I mean, he always complains about how poorly he gets treated here. I believe it's because he fears that if he goes to another team, they'll make him share the ball. Here, he can take as many shots as he wants and nobody will say anything.?</div> http://www.phillyburbs.com/pb-dyn/news/134...006-611437.html Like I said in the other thread, I sense something bad coming..and It seems to be getting closer.
I think that AI is one of the more real players in the league as far as doing what he says he will do. Guys like Kobe and Vince will look into the camera and tell a bold faced lie. AI is having his best season, and his shooting % has skyrocketed. People need to get off his back and realize that he's among the most loyal of superstars in the league.
if by bad you mean AI leaving, i do too. i do think the BK is working the phones trying to get a suitable trade for iverson, but will it get done? i highly doubt it. the same thing has been going on for many years. BK trying to find a good piece in return and ect. but nothing has happened. although to tell you the truth, i want to get AI traded and start fresh, all the losses so far isnt his fault. its the fault of teamates that dont step up and play defense and hit the open shots. although you can blame that on them not getting involved much on offense, but that still doesnt explain the bad defense. all in all, i just want the team to start over on a clean slate, but i have a feeling, actually, i know, that BK wont trade away AI. like i said before, BK is AI's bitch
Um, I hate to break it to you guys (again), but this "bad" thing already happened! AI and Mo started arguing after the Wizards game after Salmons indirectly called out AI. AI said something to the extent of he thinks Mo shouldn't ever take him out of the game, then Mo said (to his face) that AI needed to pass the ball more and that the team started to get back in the game without him on the floor. AI then said, if you don't like how I play then get somebody else in here that will do it your way. I've been in the league 10 years, and I've been doing it my way and I'm going to keep doing it my way. If you don't like it, then get me the **** outta here... trade me anywhere except the CBA, I don't give a ****.
This is crazy! Doesn't AI understand that it is part of his job to listen to his head coach? What ever happened to " I'm willing to run threw a brick wall if Mo tells me to" ? Also I still don't believe that person, even if his rumors do end up being right I still don't buy half the stuff that he types.

I would say more than 85% of his stuff is correct, but the person he gets information from has a bias against AI (which is understandable), but the latest report was all factual, not opinionated on his part. I don't see why people have a hard time believing this... this stuff happens all the time in the NBA.
Aw man, trouble in paradise..I wanted the Sixers so bad to compete for the championship before it's time for Webber and AI to call it quits. I love Maurice Cheeks too, heck I'm rooting for the Sixers to beat the Bulls tonight because they have a better shot at going further (making) in the playoffs than the Bulls. The Sixers beat the Spurs last night and they gave the Pistons an interesting series last year, maybe the Sixers can surprise people come playoff time?? Probably not, but here's to hoping...
If we can fix a lot of things before playoff time, I think we have a chance at making some noise, but not competing for a championship, or even a conference title, unless a lot of teams have huge injury problems.
There is no bad blood between AI and MO, I'm sure he was just caught up in the moment. They said AI responded by showing up to practice early, and I'm sure him and Mo talked.

You always trust yourself more than your teammates, and whether that's good or not it's the truth. You know your limits, and for people like AI, Kobe, Jordan...they have none. Iverson shoots because it gives them the best shot at winning, as for passing...he's averaging close to 8 dimes per game...I really hate when ignorant people comment on subjects they know nothing about. The funny thing is, I don't even like Iverson that much, I'm a kobe fan lol and I still recognize all this!
