Honestly, I haven't seen the effect that Yao Ming has been putting on the Houston Rockets. Just because hes outrageously tall and chinese makes him great? I think hes nothing but a gimmick. What do you guys think?
This thread isn't going to last too much longer, but Yao's impact on the Rockets franchise is fairly obvious, basketball-wise. If you haven't "seen" it, maybe you don't know too much about the game. And all these people saying that "Yao Ming is overrated!" and "Yao sucks!" is really getting crazy. He's probably been our most consistent player all season, and he gives us 20/9 with over 50% shooting from the field and over 80% from the line, playing less than 35 minutes a night. That may not put him in the same category as Shaq, Hakeem, Robinson, Ewing, but it's really damn good.
Don't talk about anything you obviously know nothing about. I can already tell you don't watch many Rockets games.
i think pplz just want to see a large human being who can play basketball and run. It is really larger than life probably if u seem him for first time in real. But this thread will probably be locked by mr. trip
Who is this guy? Has this guy ever watched a single game of B-ball? This is the most ignorant thing I've heard ever. please delete this thread to avoid wasting others' time.
Yao is the most efficient center BY FAR in the western conference, and second only behind SHAQ overall.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting yaofan:</div><div class="quote_post">Here we go agian...Yawn IBTL</div> Yep. Honestly, the "Yao is only popular because he's tall and Chinese" has become such a boring cliche (not to mention it's borderline racist). Yao is doing things that no one of his size on the basketball court has ever done. It doesn't necessarily make him a better player, but it certainly makes him an intriguing player to watch. And people seem to forget that he's steadily progressed from year to year, overall. Yao numbers are just as good if not better than Camby's, and his team is BETTER than Camby's when you compare win/loss record or point differentials when they're on the court.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yao is great but, he doesn't deserve the all star starting role.</div> I would beg to differ. In fact, I would debate that to the death with you if you really want. There is no other player out there more deserving of the all star starting role than Yao.
