One player who hasn't lived up to expectations for another player who hasn't lived up to expectations. I don't know why LA did this deal.

I like it, I like it a lot. Our front line has gone from small, slow, and unathletic last season to big, quick, and springy. The only problem is that Wilcox's development might be hurt by going to a losing team from a winning one.

I hope Wilcox gets a real chance to play starters minutes for a while, rather then go straight into the Sonics current style of splitting the 4 and 5 minutes between 5 guys.

I see Wilcox stepping right in as the starter at PF. He may not be a great PF but he is traditional and acceptable and what this team needed.

(plus now i can laugh at how stupid Radmanovic is without pissing off fellow fans)

I don't think you start Wilcox. You start Nick and keep him at 20-30 minutes per game. You now have to guys at the 4 spot who will UTILIZE their ability to score, rebound AND defend. He is a good fit for the team and will shore the middle up when Collison sits instead of weakening it like Radman did. He will also score more traditionally than Radman which should open up shots for the shooters.

Amen. Was leaving work and half listening to KJR when I heard it - about drove off the interstate into a ditch.

Wilcox is the kind of player that could thrive playing alongside a PG like Luke. He'll get some easy baskets here, and is athletic enough to allow us to play uptempo if we want. Wonder who starts, Nick or Chris???

PS - Reggie, I enjoyed your hustle and fire for the game. You are a rebounding machine and hope you find success...preferrably in the east [IMG]

Not bad. When I saw Wilcox play at Maryland I thought for sure he'd be a good pro. Not sure exactly why he didn't blossom, he shows flashes here and there but I suppose playing behind E. Brand he didn't get the opportunity.

Anyone know how the specifics of his contract?

As far as Vlad, does this mean he'll be starting at the 3 in LA? Or coming off the bench to spell Elton. Regardless, I can't wait to hear Bauman's spin on it.

Makes about 2.8 Million this year, and then he can get a qualifying offer.

    I highly doubt it.

    2.8 million 05/06
    3.5 million 06/07 *** qualifying offer

Basically we will be in the same boat this offseason with Wilcox that we were in last season with Radman. He will be a RFA, and can sign the QO like Rad did if he chooses.

i think both are expiring contracts?
and chances are neither of them is going to stay with their original team...therefore they might as well trade because clippers are trying to make a playoff push...and technically they don't have a shooter on their team

as for seattle...well...this trade won't bring them playoffs but at least seattle gets to see how wilcox really is, and hopefully sign him in offseason

Solid trade for the Sonics, maybe one of those Reggie Evans and/or Danny Fortson rumors gets done now.

    OR

Maybe the Sonics turn around and deal Wilcox to the team who's been drooling over him .. New Jersey for draft picks or expiring K's?

Thanks for the info guys. At least we get to see if he's got something for a year and if he's good we make a fair offer and if not just let him walk.

6-10, 235, good leaper and has a decent baby hook from what I recall. As far as his brain, who knows, but it can't be any worse than Vlads [IMG]

Also, in trying to find some info on him I see he got arrested on gun charges that were later dropped. Good, finally someone with some toughness on this team [IMG]

Don't get me wrong, I don't want him to go and pull a Dick Cheney...but can't he just wave it around??

This is a solid deal for both teams, neither gives a ton, neither gets a ton. Despite Radman's sketchy consistency and failure to deliver on his full promise, I still can't help but feel that the Sonics didn't get quite enough in return for him. On the other hand, this is the type of deal that needed to be made; Radmanovic in exchange for some rebounding and physical play under the basket, which Wilcox will surely bring. I'll be interested to see how the Sonics play him; do they start him at the 4, or do they let him play the 5 and have him develop alongside Nick Collison. A Collison/Wilcox front line would be undersized, but I think it could be very effective for the Sonics. Solid trade, and I know all you Sonics fans are overjoyed to be finally rid of Radmanovic [IMG]

Wilcox has all the athleticism, but he lacks a lot in the basketball IQ area. He has offense and rebounding, but no defense or shot blocking. I think he can be decent for the team, depending on his minutes, he can put up anything from 10-14 PPG, and 5-7 RPG [I'm assuming he'll get at least 25 MPG].

He has scoring ability, and can finish, but still has some things to iron out. Radmonovic is not star himself, and I don't understand how he ever turned down $42 million, but he gives the Clips length at SF, and also a little more outside shooting.

    YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!
I have always liked Chris Wilcox. I got home from work.....around 6 I remembered that the Sonics were playing so I turned on the TV. I hear Ehlo talking about Collison and then he mentions "...especially after Radmanovic being traded..." and I was like HUHH???!!! I ran to the computer and looked it up....wow. We have a good PF and a Center core now, in my opinion. Lets see what else we can piece up....
