We really need a lights out shooter. In our last game we had a whole crap load of 3's that didn't go in. I was also thinking of bringing in an another penetrator for the offense. The defense is okay, sometimes. We have to bring in defensive stopper.

I've begun to think of it as this: even if the Lakers were playing as good as they have some times before during this season, they still wouldn't go far into the playoffs. So, during the off-season, with the cap room and all that, remake the whole damn roster. Keep a few guys, like Kobe, Bynum and a few others, and trade or don't resign the rest. Actualy, trade a few now for picks. This team, with the players on the roster right now, will never accomplish anything. A championship is everything. All else means nothing.
I agree with you Bahir. The whole laker lineup is full of scrubs. Even other teams bench could become starters on the lakers. They should cut luke walton, sasha vujacic, and start signing players who can play DEFENSE! Mitch Kupcake is probally the worse manager ive seen. He hasn't done anything to help this team improve. I think Lakers need different surrounding players for Kobe. We need true veteran players or really good shooters.

He's scoring 18 ppg in less than 35 minutes a night, and he's shooting 43% from three an 47% from the field. I imagine that Detroit will also try to make a trade for him, so the Lakers may not be able to get in on that deal unless they put up a good offer.

Plus Chris Bosh said he wants Mike James to re-sign. I have this weird feeling the Lakers are going to end up with Steve Francis.
I would have never said it in the past, but now I'd love to have Stevie Franchise as a Laker. We don't have a scoring option behind Kobe, someone who can create plays for himself. I don't know if Orlando would want Odom, but I would be willing to make that trade if I was a GM. Not having any kind of scoring support behind Kobe has been killer to us. Because everyone scores off open shots created by Kobe, half our players are just standing around waiting. I'd be more than willing to trade Odom if we got Franchise. He may not be a winner (ala Starbury), but he gives us a solid second scoring option, something no one else has done this year. We may lose our best rebounder, but big whoop. Francis gives us a huge help in the backcourt and gives a second scorer, which is why I'd be willing to pull the trigger on an Odom for Francis deal.
I would love it if lakers got francise. He will bring showtime back to the lakers. He would be a player who can create his own shots and shots for other players.
I think the Lakers can get Francis without giving up Odom as well. Right now Orlando is interested in unloading Francis salary and the Lakers can put together a package to get it done. The Magic were close to trading Francis for Penny, so they are definitely looking for cap space and cheap young talent. I'm sure the Magic would prefer trading Francis to the West Coast and not an East Coast rival. This combination of players would work... In this league you have to give to get, and Mihm would make the most sense for the Magic. The Lakers have the option of playing Kwame Brown at Center. He's actually played better when he slides to the 5, with Odom or Cook sliding to PF. Adding Francis pretty much assures the Lakers a playoff spot this season. I'm confident Bynum will be ready to play heavy minutes next season for the Lakers. PG - Francis SG - Kobe SF - Odom PF - Cook C - Kwame
I actually wouldn't mind seeing Bynum play more...I really like the kid...he gets us offensive boards, energy, he can score, and he is a defensive threat in the post....I really don't mind at all btw New Jersey is trying to dump Planinic and Jackson..opinions anyone?
