Transcript for "classic" folks that might not have mp3 players:

News Reporter to Pietrus: "What happened there in the last (like) 10 seconds of the game. I know that the shotclock was running down, (I mean) the clock in general (er) the time was running out. Unfortunately you had that foul on Atkins.

Pietrus: Oh you know... I'm already projecting for Wednesday game and oh you know... I try to step up ...and that's it.

Dunleavy Jr: C'mon now that's a stupid f*cking question, man. C'mon. That had nothing to do with the outcome of the f*cking game. You're in here trying to start sh*t

Unknown voice (Maybe Jrich's): C'mon Mike

Dunleavy Jr: It had nothing to do with it. The game was tied. Stupid f*cking question.

Yeah, he went wild yet again. I respect players that go to bat for their teammates because Pietrus was definitely being baited by that reporter. It just wasn't an appropriate question to ask because it was a mental mistake on Pietrus. That's all. Pure and simple.

It's funny how Dunleavy's accent sort of changed to Eminem's.

Pretty soon Dun Jr. is going to be like: "You best stop frontin' my boy, casper, or I'm going to put my size 15's in your ugly grill. Werd?"

Mike Dunleavy Jr. sounded sort of like Chris Mullin too. Mullin definitely got the accent.

man dunleavy is looking out for his teammates! He's a G, remember an earlier game i forgot which one when J-rich got pushed after the time expired and then Dunleavy came up and pushed that guy and got a Tech. for it. Even though he may be inconsistent at times, you can tell he's got the balls to back up team

At least Dunleavy shows that he's still into the game after a tough loss. Maybe that's what needs to be shown more, how he's totally into the game and is a true gamer, a (cliche) <font color=""Navy"">WARRIOR</font>.

Somehow, he's just got to get his jumper going down and finish better at the rim and he's going to take off. Oh yeah, and he's got to take those bigger guys off the dribble more. He's killing them. His D has improved tremendously. He's getting better positioning and not getting pushed around as much. He won't block a shot but he'll make them make a tougher shot.

Dunleavy ain't that bad. I used to call him charmin ultra once (like the toilet paper), but he's really not that soft anymore compared to year 1 and year 2 and a little bit of year 3. I even thought part of the reason he was still around in the nba was because of the potential audience he would bring if he ever did blow up into Larry Bird (which many saw parts of his game as). That's quite a potential player for a franchise to invest in business wise and win column wise if you got a guy that can pass, dribble, shoot, and play the old school way.

After all, Dunleavy was a third pick overall in the 2002 draft and was hyped up as Adam Morrison is today (maybe more since Dun won the NCAA with Duke and was the man). Well, he's nowhere near Larry Bird, but he's had some flashes where he could make others better and score points like him too. Check out some of these draft sites and all that hype.

Jumpshot 10, athleticism 9? LOL. Okay that site is not reliable. I couldn't find any others since they expired. I guess anytime you compare a rookie to the game of a hall of famer, it's bogus. But there were other scout reports and writers who were saying he'd be a combo of Dirk Nowitzki or Peja in terms of shooting/passing/dribbling with the body of Larry Bird (slowness). Concerns about him were his physical weakness, his slowness, and his ability to create his own shot and defend against the stronger/faster paced nba.

The good thing about Dunleavy is he's driving the ball more which we need. He's being where he needs to be off the ball in a chaotically managed offense. He's playing good help D and he's more active. He's actually stepping up and trying to get the guys to play team ball (which is a good reinforcement over the lengthy one-on-one crap we try to do at PF and PG). He's also standing up for his teammates and trying to make them better. Gotta respect that as a player.

What Dun doesn't do is play aggressively all the time and he's got a role player's mentality. I think it's because his outside shot is way way off this year and he's not always able to drive on a defender in traffic. If he had Pietrus' athleticism and Sam Cassell's jumpshot/post-up skills he'd probably be the man, but he's having an off year and he doesn't have the best set of tools to work with for a 6'10 guy. Sometimes, Dunleavy's play is like watching Jrich shoot free throws and Foyle trying to win a tip-off, but Dunleavy is really effective when the Warriors do buy into the concept of playing team ball. Also, Dunleavy is more tolerable to watch than ever because Jim Barnett isn't crooning over him constantly.

Aww c'mon AF, show Dunleavy some f'n love. His profanity laden outburst against the media was great. He got Pietrus' back even though Pietrus is the one that replaced him in the starting lineup. Me, I'd be making Pietrus a case to put me back in the starting lineup. [IMG]

Well, I guess when you're getting paid a crapload of money for years to come and having your worst statistical year before trade deadline, that might get the fans/team/gm on your side again. But maybe Dunleavy's just a born regulator.
