We just lost to the Hawks by 4 points. We lost so many close games and we've lost to so many teams with worse records than our own. We need to make a trade. I dont know what else to think at this point. Its frustrating watching them. Im sure Kobe and Jackson feel this way too.
I hate to bring it up again, but Ron Artest was exactly what the Lakers needed. He is an impact player on both ends of the court. Why the Lakers got cold feet about him makes absolutely no sense at all. Just look at the impact he's had in Sacramento, his intensity on defense has rubbed off on the entire team. There's a lot of players who can make an immediate impact and assure the Lakers a playoff position. I'm just not confident the front office can pull it off and be creative.
I'll tell you what, the Lakers backcourt is the worst in the league. Smush Parker is an idiot on the court and Sasha cannot hit any damn wide open shots. It's sickening watching them get burned by Royal Ivey and Josh Childress. Combined those two scrubs shot a miserable 2-16 from the field tonight. Smush continues to fail at the free throw line going 1-4 tonight. Smush missed two dunks and made a huge mistake on defense when he fouled Ivey 40 feet away from the basket putting the Lakers in the penalty. We need a serious upgrade in the backcourt to start the games. Losing Laron Profit was a killer for the Lakers, and not having McKie for the entire season has been another waste of the team's MLE. We've heard PJax mention the team is looking to improve there. Mitch Kupchak also said he's trying to upgrade the backcourt. Let's hope they act on it and not let the expiring K of Slava go to waste.
I dont think anyone can come in right now and make a dramatic change to our squad. However, we need some sort of change. The offense mainly goes through Kobe where he drives and dish to a 3point shooter. They need more easy buckets. The lakers ran their offense well but failed to play defense. Who do you guys think can come to the lakers and make a big contribution to the team? I want to get a veteran player that will make a big impact.
If Artest came to LA we would have been a lock for at least the playoffs. I agree with shape. Im just so frustrated watching the Lakers lose they way they have been. I'd rather see blowouts than these stupid nailbiters they seem to always lose. If they had won most of these, we'd probrably be 10+ .500 at this point.
The trade for Artest would have been great for lakers. I think lakers just didn't want to take a risk when it came to Artest. Hopefully, Lakers can improve after the allstar game. They need everyone to be healthy to keep that 8th spot. We dont want to be in a worse situation and not make the playoffs 2 year in a row. I would be so pissed... I didn't even care for last years playoffs because that happened.
We need a guy that can pentrate and make shots for themselves. Only Lamar and Kobe can do that. Smush is always open for threes because, of that. So, we have to bring in a guy that can do that for us.
Man..this is bull**** the way the Lakers played yesterday. I had enough watching the Lakers struggling throughout the season. I mean, wtf, aren't they suppose to be better by now at mid-half of the season with the familiar of the Triangle Offense? Let's screw it, this is the worse team in the league by far without Kobe! I don't know, beside Kobe Bryant, the rest of the Lakers' players are pretty much NBDL quality players. This is sickening watching them losing close game after close game. This is a NO excuse!!! They play no defense, and trying to do TOO little on offense. Watching Smush Parker missed two dunks, wtf again? He really pissed me off now, he's the main reason the Lakers lose that game. The guy is short with limit leaping ability and trying to be on the highlight sportcenter, gosh...makes a layup for once! I say right now, the chance of the Lakers making a trade before the deadline is slim. Don't count of the Bitc*h Kupcake making any trade. I wouldn't be surprise if the Lakers didn't make any trade for 2 reasons? Lakers' front office is basically mess up, and second the Lakers doesn't have any quality trading bait unless they're willing to give up Bynum or Odom which is basically what they're struggling to make a deal right now.
The Lakers like the FSN commentator said have a way of always playing to their competitors level, doesn't matter if its the Heat or the lowly Hawks. Or they'll dominate the first half of the game and get a 15+,20+ point lead and blow it in the second half, its ridiculous. The only reason I can think of is DEFENSE..
