<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Again there are rumors that the New York Knicks are shopping point guard Stephon Marbury, and that it's possible he could wind up back with the Wolves in a three-team trade. Marbury has said more than once that he would not want to play here again. But one way Kevin McHale could silence most of his critics and increase the Wolves' popularity overnight is to find a way to get Marbury. McHale could trade anybody but Kevin Garnett, and the public would again be able to see a superstar like Garnett and a point guard like Marbury work together as well as any pair in the NBA. Owner Glen Taylor would become a hero again, and a lot of discontented fans would come back to Target Center. That was great basketball when Garnett and Marbury played together, and it hasn't been the same since Marbury was traded away in 1999. Wolves home attendance is down more than 2,000 fans per game from 2004-05. And the odds of them making the playoffs are not very good. After a 12-6 start, they have gone 11-23, counting Wednesday night's 102-92 victory over Seattle. The four consecutive losses at home really dampened fan interest. If Taylor wants to revive it, something drastic, such as getting Marbury, has to be done. Taylor said it would probably be very difficult to trade for Marbury because of the salary he is making -- more than $16 million this year. The Wolves would have to give up an equal amount of salary. The Knicks are interested in dealing for Steve Francis, and with coach Larry Brown and company playing some of the worst basketball in the league, they need to make a change. The Wolves had their chance at Francis, with Orlando offering to trade its controversial guard for Wally Szczerbiak. The Wolves turned down the offer and ended up making the deal with Boston instead. Apparently, the Wolves are also talking to the Clippers, who have some interest in Eddie Griffin. Something has to happen if the Wolves are going to fill Target Center again.</div> Source
I think Francis would be a better fit than Marbury (Especially since Marbury doen't want to be there)
I swear, by all that's good, I don't understand what it is about Marbury that makes teams want to acquire him. Now I have gotten past the dislike since he left here awhile ago. Actually when he was in Phoenix I decided to let it pass. But I don't get why we are even interested in him The only thing he has proven is that teams get better when he leaves.
The Wolves have to rebuild. They reached their peak in 03-04 and now they are on the decline. So, they have to rebuild, maybe even trading Garnett. If they trade him they will get something in return, or Garnett may opt out in 08.
Steph has never been the saviour of anyone, or anything. The guy has been on more losing teams than the members of the Washington Generals.
Marbury biterness towards Garnett has always been that equal of his lack of sucess. Losing is in his blood.
Ive' been hearing the Twolves are interested in another PG in Steve Francis, personally i'd rather have any of them, cause they are both better than Maric or Banks.
Neither of them are better than Banks. I can't believe any team would want Francis and his shitty attitude. The last thing this team needs is a whiny and selfish personality, which is what both of them have.

I don't believe he will be a Billups, but I could see him doing something similar to Tony Parker. I may be looking too much into it, but what does Parker have in his game that Banks can't? Banks just need some more time and he'll be our point guard for now and the future. I personally like the A.C. / Banks tandem (When A.C. is looking to score like his last game). I feel alot more comfortable with those two when I see them getting the ball, instead of Hudson, when as soon as he touches it I cringe. I like Jaric's defense on players similar to his size, not speedy point guards. Francis game is okay, but I don't know how well he would get along with our players, being that he has a history of complaining and selfishness. I can think of a number of points I'd rather have than him.
