Luther Head had a good game tonight in the Rookie Challenge, leading the team in scoring, although he jacked up a bit too many shots and failed to convert on too many alley-oops. Still, he made a nice off-the-backboard layup and repped Houston well. Next Rockets up are TMac and Yao in the All-Star Game. Let's see Yao win the MVP.
Yeah, I think Yao takes the MVP. Anyone wanna see him cross over LeBron and J' Iverson from downtown? I sure do. Go Yao.
I really do hope Yao wins MVP. I think it's going to be a longshot, but winning that award would hopefully make the average fan respect Yao as a player. The folks at the ESPN board especially are very anti-Yao. The Suns game showed how much NBA coaches fear him. I don't know of many players that would command an immediate double-team like he had that night. A MVP award for Yao will hopefully make people realize that he is a legitimate All-Star center, and I'm also going to predict that he will take at least one three pointer. He will either make it or miss it. If he makes it, it will mean three points for the West, and if he misses, someone will get the rebound. <div class="quote_poster">Quoting Mag:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah, I think Yao takes the MVP. Does anyone remember the game last year where he went behind the back on a fast break? I am going to start calling Hot Sauce if he ever crosses over anybody in the game. Anyways, it might have even been Derek Anderson he crossed over.
I actually see Tmac getting the MVP...This is his hometown now and he wants to give houston something to get excited about. Houston chroncile reported him saying that this weekened he wants to put his mind off of it.

He tried getting the ball from Yao, and BAM, behind the back. 'Reef just kept running the other way -- it was AWESOME. I have a clip of that somewhere, I ought to dig it up.
The Houston Chronicle has a nice series of articles on all the players that have been All-Stars in Houston: Don Kojis, Jack Marin, Rudy T, Ralph Sampson, Otis Thorpe, Calvin Murphy, Moses Malone, The Dream, Steve Francis, Elvin Hayes, The Glide, Charles Barkley, Yao Ming, and T-Mac

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AznxBaller:</div><div class="quote_post">Iguodala was robbed!!!</div> Yes, he was. Now for the all-star game. I really see T-Mac getting it. If Yao Ming makes his shots and gets rebounds he could also very well be the MVP.

T-Mac will continue the tradition and rep H-Town with the MVP tonight. He needs to do this to get himself over his personal hump. Let's hope he uses this to get it out of his system. jojonow
i was reading that article on ralph sampson and it kind of reminded me of what's happening to yao. he had so much expectations on him he couldn't possibly fufill them all. hopefully yao wont get injured though.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting AznxBaller:</div><div class="quote_post">Iguodala was robbed!!!</div> That is just relative to your own opinion. Judging based on dunks converted, the last dunks showed that Nate had more creativity and possibly difficulty on his dunk than Andre did. Andre wasn't as creative since it was another between the leg dunk that we've seen before. Yeah Nate did have to do it 13 times b4 converting but in the rules he could do it as much times as he could. Nate might not be a better dunker than Iguodala but from his effort in the dunk contest and also his small size, i think nate deserved it more

There shouldn't have even been those two more tries. In addition, from what I've been hearing from people who rewatched the whole thing, both the guys were told they would be getting one dunk. Iguodala must have thought Nate would be penalized for trying the dunk fourteen times so he did the easy one thinking he secured the win. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yeah Nate did have to do it 13 times b4 converting but in the rules he could do it as much times as he could.</div> That dunk wasn't even that great. The judges heard the crowd noise so they deliberated their decision. You're just a bit biased since your an A.I and a.i fan? Too bad ..but i guess the judges were fans of nate robinson who was obviouslythe underdog. But ur being a bit biased since if you saw Nate's last dunk he threw the ball to the backboard between his legs and caught it with one hand and dunked it. It was obviously harder than it seems, which is why he missed so many times. Igodala was less risky in the last one, i thought..but the final it was the judges' decision.
He got robbed. Everyone talking about Iggy getting robbed in the dunk contest...haha. It's over though, you can't do nothing about it.
T-Mac definetly got fouled on that last shot, but everyone knows the NBA can't call a foul on there golden boy with under 10 seconds to go.
