Saying that 76ers fans are babys and then posting a picture of an infant was about as creative as Nate Robinson's dunks, and it took you a long time (9 pages) to come up with it.
Wow, somebody is about to be banned... Again, I don't see why people are saying Iguodala wasn't creative, and Nate was. Please, tell me how Nate's dunks were any more creative than Iguodala's? Because of his height? No. Honestly, tell me how they were more creative. People are saying that this dunk or that dunk of Iguodala's was already done, and that he "stole" the idea from previous dunk contest participants. However, the same could be said for Nate's dunks... and not acknowledging that is hypocrisy. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">The reason why Nate could take 14 shots cause the dunk attempt was so difficult, Iggy had no chance to do the dunk that Nate did in the end.</div> Wait, are you talking about the throw it off the backboard half windmill? If you don't think Iguodala could have done that, then you need to pass me whatever you're smoking... PLEASE! Now, peopel are saying that only the dunk that was made should be taken into account, correct, then why in the hell should we reward a guy for putting the ball through his legs before throwing it up in the air? The announcers were saying the exact same thing... it's ludicrous. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Stop hating, the 76ers are underachievings, and Iggy didn't step it up in the end, deal with it, its reality.</div> Stop hatin', the Knicks have the highest payroll in the league and are near the bottom of the league. Their players are trash, with the exception of a few, deal with it. After it's all said and done, Andre Iguodala's career will not be defined by a controversial dunk contest. Deal with it, it's reality. MrJ, I hope Iguodala will be there again next year, but a lot of players will not be willing to participate if Nate returns, because they saw how the judges gave him extra points because of his height, and how the rules were changed in his favor. Iguodala also said on CSN that he felt he was robbed, and that he will not participate in the contest next year because of it. I'm tired of arguing with stupid Knick fans (not you MrJ), because I know some of you are desperate to keep this title because its the highlight of the millenium for you guys. You need all the help you can get in winning anything this year. And to those of you mature Knick fans, I have no problem continuing this discussion with you. And if you don't believe that Kenny Smith deliberately send the contest into a dunk-off, watch it again (end of clip): http://s55.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=174S4KO...D43PYH8PNTXE9AE
I'm sorry, but i find it amazing that it took a negative comment by me to get my posts appreciated by the justbball community(negatively), it shows the type of world we live in and the facts that before that i spoke intellectually and it took a rude message to get attention. The facts are Iggys dunks were not as spectacular as you guys made them out to be and Amare Stoudemire should be known as the dunking god ala Dominique Wilkins successor. You guys, really need to grow up this whole dunk contest was full of non jump shooting players example a. Josh b. Hakim warrik, c. Andre Iguodala and many more who couldn't hit a 12 foot jumper to save their beloved grandma's life. Fact is Nate deserved it, for his heart his courageousness, and the fact his dunks were original(except for Spud Webb *sigh*), and the Seahawks were screwed and i lost 200$ lol. Anywayz, stop crying you 76'ers and get back to hating Terrel Owens, and your dissapointing franchies. Good day .

Nates dunks were original? I thought his were new and creative? He did a between the legs that should have scored him a 30, it took him wayyyy to many times to do and the comp should have been over at that point. How are you going to miss a dunk so many times? If the dunk was to hard for him he shouldn't have tried it in the first place, he made himself look stupid and still won! What does them being "non shooting" players have anything to do with anything about the official dunk contest? That just shows how your rambling about things that don't even relate to this topic. It is one thing to say Nate won the contest, but to say he really truly beat Andre, and was the best dunker in that contest is CRAZY. There needs to be a big poll made, nation wide, I gurantee you everybody will say Dre won the contest. I also think the NBA has realized they messed up, you probably won't here much about this anymore when it comes to announcers and NBA games themselves.
I still find it funny how people think Nate's dunks were original! I mean, thinking they were awesome is one thing, because I can see that, but saying they were original is absurd! So, nobody has done a between the legs dunk before? Nobody has done a windmill off the backboard before? Nobody as done a 180 off the bounce before?
If the number of attempts affected your score, then yes, Nate should've only gotten a 30. AI WAS the better dunker, but his last 2 dunks weren't as amazing as the behind the back and the backboard dunk. If he did the backboard one in the final round, he definitely would've taken the crown, even with the judges leaning towards Nate. And I guess everything looks 10x crazier when you're only 5'7". btw, did we ever find out about why josh smith put that tape there?
I don't think any word has come out on the tape thing... and I think somebody needs to ask him for sure. If he would have taken off from there and made it, I would have ended the contest right there, given him the trophy, and all the prize money for all the participants in the contest. But if he did make that, how in the hell would he top it in the next rounds?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting The Soft Parade:</div><div class="quote_post">I`d delete that before your ass gets banned.</div> Jesus, you think your helping. it was just a dunk contest why are people getting so mad? even igudalas not as pissed as some of you are. the whole robbed thing is stupid anyways. Nowitzki got away with a bigger robery if you ask me.
Let me end this now. Nate Robinson is not only 5"7, but he has no wingspand, his arms are bulky and short. His legs are pudgy and strong. He's the complete opposite of long. For him to dunk and be a competition with long wing players alone is amazing. Any dunk he does will equate to their creative dunks. But here what seperates Nate from the other guys. Nate's dunks had the most creativity, and the reason why he got the crowd up so many times is because his formula of creativity, explosiveness, his hang time, his body control, and the ideas he came up with. The Spudd Webb dunk was a classic momment and will always been remember and the most rememberable part of the Dunk contest. Nate brought it back two decades ago, and has set a standard for everyone. Nate has proven height is overrated in the NBA, Nate has proven to alot of people who play and enjoy basketball, playing with heart and having not "quit" as an option" Whats the matter with him trying 14 times? The god damn chamaquito was starting the dunk from half court, are you guys retarded? Honestly, I feel you guys don't even play basketball and understand the staminia and longivity it takes to do what Nate Robinson did physically. It was a superior preformance to all the dunkers. Iggy had a great preformance, but the guy lost by 2, if it by 1 then I would understand that he was robbed. Iggy needed a point just to tie it, even Kenny Smith was trying his best to get it to be tied. If anything, Iggy got welfared and assisted, but in the end, Nate's preformance was too superior to Iggy to quality for another dunk off. Nate is the champion, and you guys have to live with this fact for a year. I love it This is me during the dunk contest.
Um, you do know that Iguodala DID lose by 1... so, then, you agree that he was robbed, and your argument is gone! I have no problem with him trying 14 times... the thing I have the problem with is the league stacking everything in his favor. Why get rid of the "two-attempt" rule THIS year, when it was in full effect in years past? A few years ago, Jason Richardson lost in the finals because he missed a dunk twice, and Fred Jones of the Pacers won it on a crappy dunk. The rule was in effect for a long time, and then out of the blue they take it away this year. If Nate had won fair and square, a lot of people wouldn't have a problem with it. The fact that the contest was basically over from the beginning due to the judges sympathy for Nate pretty much ruined the great show that both Nate and Iguodala put up. If you can't see that the judges were behind Nate (especially Kenny Smith), then you need to watch the contest over again.

I`m tuning out of the Dunk Contest now, in the end, its just a fun contest but I`ll stick with who I should of won in peace. A mod should close this up though before its gets a little more out of hand.

There would of been alot who would of said Nate was robbed. It was a competitive competion, you saying Iggy was robbed proves you and 76er fans are crybabies, its a fact...if Nate lost it I wouldn't care, I was entertained. This thread has been 85% complaining, to the max, there has even been signatures made, avatars, gifs and other things. You guys are taking it too seriously and are forgetting about the competition that made it fun. Especially Kenny Smith? Kenny Smith gave Nate's first dunk an 8, while every other judge gave Nate a 9...even Barkely and Smith agreed with each other on the score...so how you sound? You need to watch the contest over if you forgot that part (the beginning).

Since that was the first half of the season, we'll double it and say he gets around 68 threes in the season. Plus, he's shooting those .397 percentage which is really efficient. That really isn't that bad considering he doesn't get too many touches in the Philadelphia system. Going by 82games.com, 45% of his shots are jumpers and he's shooting those at around a .430 clip. Not too shabby at all.
