http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/sports/13907671.htm I don't have any reason to doubt him and, if this is correct, that's another reason he's one of my favorites. My question to you is this: DO YOU THINK THE WOLVES SHOULD TRY TO LEARN MORE ABOUT THEIR NEW PERSONNEL AND CONCENTRATE ON NEXT SEASON? I don't mean to tank the rest of the season, but have a mindset that "we'll fight til we die now to fight to win then". We have 4 new players who add dimensions to our team. Davis's athleticism and energy are a good sight to see. He doesn't seem to be the greatest one-on-one defender, but I would feel confident putting him on most guys his size. He can be a very good distributor when he wants. Blount - Has some offense that we need from the 5 and is what you'll notice instead of his "D". He's not awful defensively though. He seems to be more of a Malone "Swiper" than a dominant shot-blocker in my estimation. Banks - I've posted before, could be our point for now and the future. I don't see what Tony Parker has that Banks couldn't. Reed - He seems to be an energy and hustle guy, but sometimes a little too much. He doesn't have the respect from the refs, so he gets called for alot of fouls. I think he's okay. You've noticed that they play the previous together, which is cool for awhile, but they are going to have to acknowledge that this is the TIMBERWOLVES and all of the players should be able to play together.
I think KG is afraid to ask for a trade. Everyone knows he's a professional, and would respect his decision. I'm sure TWolves fans would love to see Garnett by another star player playing for a championship. It's time to get some young players, draft picks, and some expiring contracts and rebuild from the ground up. Move past the Garnett era, and build the team around someone else.
For a time, everyone thought Chuck was a lifer in Phili too until the 76ers organization went in the shi#*er. Next thing you know, he's in Phoenix and reviving his career and a chance for a title. I think KG doesnt want to be seen as selfish, or become a title chaser like Malone became. However, a man like he is, I dont think anyone in the leauge, nor his loyal fans, would be upset or angry should he and the Wolves part ways. He's already weathered the storms of te Marbury deal, and the Wally feud, and now the aftermath of Cassell and Sprewell. SHould Minnesota have a "plan" and presents it to KG, and doesnt mind going out and spending money, they can still put a contending team around him, even if I do think it is time for him, at this stage in his career, to move on, and begin Chapter II somewhere other than the land of 10,000 lakes.
They reported Glenn Taylor is going to have to decide between KG and Kevin McHale. The two can no longer co-exist and one or both will be gone by the summer.
