A reenactment of the ruthless friction that transpired in New York between Van Gundy and Ernie Grunfeld, which led to the firing of the Knicks team president. Vecsey is informed that Van Gundy is so angry with the personnel Carroll has provided that he recently told free-agent pickup Stromile Swift, "Would you please ask to be traded." </div> Any truth to this you think?
If this was true the Houston Chronicle would have reported it. And I really doubt that JVG would be mad at Dawson for the personnel changes. JVG is one of those coaches that'll tell you what kind of players he wants.
peter vescey's "sources"....... i don't trust vescey and his rumors that never develop, nor do i trust his sources.
Why would a guy in New York know what's going on before Houston media? If I get a dime for every Peter Vescey "rumour" that never have any solid foundations, I'd be richer than Bill Gates.
Haha, man that is cold if Carrol Dawson actually made that statement to Swift. They mentioned this on TNT or ESPN during the All-Star break as well about the CD and JVG rift. I'm sure it's being blown completely out of proportion, especially if Vecsey was the only one to write about it. Afterall, JVG got complete support by ownership after his infamous feud with David Stern regarding the referees.

Van Gundy received a blurb from a New York Post column that said he and Dawson were no longer on speaking terms. "The funny thing was at the time somebody e-mailed it to me, I was talking to Carroll," Van Gundy said. "I just found it funny. I wasn't going to bring it up."</div> Sources: Houston Chronicle ESPN Insider Intelligence Report Once again, Vecsey proves his lack of credibility.
