Then you're clearly arguing the wrong point. Flip's coaching had nothing to do with who was selected to the All-Star game. He just worked with what he was given.

It was Flip's coaching that decided which players got which minutes. It was apparent that Flip was a bit more charitable when deciding how many minutes his underserving Pistons would get. Don't get me wrong, Detroit is a great team but not all 4 of the Piston All Stars stand out as great individual performers, which is what the All Star represents- GREAT INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS!

Well, Im gonna jump in here....

First off, youre wrong in like 90 percent of what you've said in this thread.

Flop played all 4 of his starters at the same time because it was a symbol and he wanted his players to be able to say "we played together at the same time in the all-star game". Make Pistons history, y'know, so, that was a symbol....

Second, his coaching was not horrible at all. Did you notice we were down by about 18, 20 points when he put them ALL back in at the same time. That's when the D kicked in and the raft was felt and the east came back.

Your last post has nothing to do with this thread. Everyone made you feel stupid, so now you keep pulling other stuff to bicker about up. Just admit you were wrong. You must have had it embedded in your head to complain before the game even started, huh?

Its pretty obvious that everyone is going to oppose me. I posted this thread in a freaking Pistons forum. I'm not surprised that everyone attacked back. If I was a Piston fan I'd love to see 4 of my teams starters play most of the minutes in the All Star game. But its sad that you guys have forgotten what the All Star game is supposed to represent. Most of the people disagreeing with you aren't even Piston fans. The all-star GAME is exactly that a GAME. Apart from Sheed all the Pistons that made It have very good stats and should of been in there in previous years as well. All-star games are boring when the players are just trying to do fancy passes and alley-oops that goes into the stands after the players can't catch the ball. When they play hard and make It into a game thats exactly what the all-star game should mean.

    cliplove777,
you say chauncey was the only one that deserved to be there, Rip who is the leading scorer on the Pistons really deserved it, he did miss some shots at the beginning that he would usually make, thats only because he was psyched to be there for the first time.

and of course a lakers fan would say all this, your still mad that we beat you in the 2004 Finals, and your mad that your team sucks and the Pistons are doing the best.

    <div class="quote_poster">Quoting 02civic:</div><div class="quote_post">Ben Wallace played 24 minutes. Bosh played 16 minutes.
Ben Wallace had 8 rebounds. Bosh had 8 rebounds.
Ben wallace had 0 points. Bosh had 8 points.

Just my 2cents but i dont think Ben Wallace or Rasheed Wallace should of been in the all star game. I think better choices would of been Dwight Howard and Arenas. Not sure who would come in for the injured J. Oneal, but i'm sure i can find someone more deserving than those 2.</div>
Rasheed shouldnt be an allstar, Prince should. But i think Ben Wallace deserves it, points dont really matter, besides he didnt really get to touch the ball. Hes really efficient on the court on both ends, i'll take him over Dwight.

Yea Cliplove 777 is such a homer, besides what is the meaning of the thread. All your doing is complain what Flip has done. WHo cares?!? Hes the friggin coach, he can do whatever he wants. Why do you care that he played all 4 pistons? Its not like Kobes on the East.

how about this...everyone is opposing you because you're wrong. im not a huge pistons fan, and im here, giving you FACTS. read the box score.

nobody is attacking you...we're correcting you. the pistons are off to a record start, and its not just one member doing it. its all of them contributing. chauncey is an mvp candidate, rip hamilton is the leading scorer on the leagues best team. ben wallace is the best defensive player in the league...tell me which of these players should be left off the asg roster and why? sheed was a bit of a questionable pick, but thats just one player...so whats the big deal? these players were selected by the coaches around the league, they felt they all deserved to be there.

you've completely changed what you're problem was. first your problem was flip's mismanagment of the asg game...now its that the ones there didnt deserve to be. pick something to complain about, and go with it. if your problem is that piston players didnt deserve to be there, then why?

Apparently you haven't read any of my posts. I clearly stated that: Due to Flip Saunders coaching strategies the four Detroit players recieved more minutes then they deserved, that is, if they deserved any.

WTF has Prince done to deserve an All Star?

The Allstar game is over, even if Flip did a bad job of coaching, the East won.

Can't we find more important things to talk (or argue) about?

Another thing is that the Pistons would have used their minutes more wisely if they were home, because they were in Houston they didn't do as good.

If you come to the Palace (of Auburn Hills) they will do way better, because we only have 2 losses at home this season.

It is the allstar game...He has a point in saying that Detroit players were given to many minutes. Yes Detroit got them back in the game, but who cares it is the allstar game. He might be biased, but your the only fan who seems to care. I'm a die hard Tmac fan and I don't really care that he didnt get MVP honors. The rest of the season and the playoffs matter.

Obviously the rest of the season is more important..........The only reason I made this thread was because I thought it was unfair. But the bigger picture is the season and the all star game is over. Seeing as I cant do anything I'm just gonna finish this arguement.

yea...i fully understand what you're trying to say. im still waiting for you to back that statment up with any facts. so far, all you've done is [IMG]

fact: the piston players didnt get any more minutes then anyone else who was there or deserved the minutes. if im wrong...then which piston was it that got more minutes then they deserve?

was it chauncey who had the best game of any other pg? but played less minutes then iverson? or was it rip hamilton, who had the least amount of minutes of any east SG or sf? was it ben wallace? the only other center on the roster other then shaq? they shared their minutes evenly...well, correction, ben had 1 more minute then shaq...CALL THE POLICE!! rasheed had the same amount of minutes as bosh, and they're the only power forwards on the roster. so enlighten us...who got more minutes then they deserve? you wanted to see vince carter playing power forward all night? flip wanted to win...and he did win. bosh and sheed were the only players who match up with the west pf's. im glad he didnt put sf's in all game.

what was unfair!?!? the minutes were given evenly...most pistons played LESS then the starters. you keep saying that, but its not even true.

I think I understand what you're saying now, but it still doesn't make any sense. You can have you're opinion on who actually deserved to be in the All-Star game, but its rather ridiculous to expect Flip to coach according to that. Sauders did the best he could with what he was given. Its not his job to distribute minutes according to who was most deserving to be there. As dj_premium_plus showed, he gave minutes pretty equally. Any extra time was given to whoever was more effective. Again, Flip's job wasn't to coach according to regular season performances. He was supposed to give a fair amount of time to everyone, while trying to win the game. If you're complaining about this, you clearly don't remember Rick Carlisle's ASG coaching job.
