It makes perfect sense for Minny. They get 15 mil in cap room once Penny contract is up to build with and sign a big name FA, they also get a very promising rookie...NY could be getting Garnett and Francis...sadly, I don't think it'll help them much. Francis and Marbury in the backcourt...not promising.

Will those 3 stars be able to co-exist though? Francis and Marbury both need the ball to be effective and then you add KG to the mix? Someone won't be happy out of the three. It kind of reminds me of Miami with Payton, Wade, Shaq, Walker, and Williams.

I think it's different than the Miami situation in that Miami, got more B class talent while New York is getting more A class talent. What I mean to say is, the players New York is getting outclass the ones Miami got.

Will it work? There is a good chance it can, and there is a good chance it won't. It all depends on wheter the Knicks get Houston Rockets Steve Francis or Orlando Magic Steve Francis. Steve Francis and Marbury could be the second coming of Steve Francis and Cuttino Mobley. Meaning they play a two man game and neglect the posts. With Eddy Curry and Kevin Garnett on your team, thats going to cause major problems. In Houston they were getting it to Yao more and more as time went along (Especially during the lakers vs. Houston series).

One problem wih the Knicks now, is they either can't feed Curry or they are force feeding him, one of two extremes. With Curry and Garnett, not feeding either or is going to be difficult, unless you're completely incompotent.

I wouldn't be unhappy if this deal got done. I would be interested to see how Larry Brown coaches this lineup. I mean, that lineup is an offensive explosion waiting to happen. (Francis, Marbury, Quentin (or whoever), KG, and Curry). However what will happen on the defensive end?

Wow, this would be a very interesting team to watch: Marbury, Francis, and Garnett.

It does make perfect sense for both teams as well, but I'm wondering why Isiah finally decided (or so it seems) to give up Frye.

If we get KG and keep Curry we could have a playoff team but adding Francis would likely do more harm than good.

Not happening. Believe me, if Minnesota puts KG on the block another team will put together a much better offer than Penny & Frye.

Yeah, for real. Chicago has more to offer. Our lottery pick, a huge expiring contract, and young guys like Deng and Gordon. Definitely wishful thinking for us. Let's just hope he doesn't get traded, especially not East. I also don't think the T'Wolves want to rebuild now, either. They already traded an 8 million dollar expiring contract and took on long-term deals in Mark Blount and Ricky Davis.

LoL, this trade was rumored to be in the summer. Everyone might come to New York. Lebron, Kobe etc. KG is not coming to the knicks. The wolves need size cuz they lost Kandi Man and they would lose KG. They would want Frye, Lee, Rose etc. I dont think Isiah would trade his rookies.

You can kiss it goodbye. All you really had to offer that sparked the interested was Penny because of his expiring contract. It would've given Minny a nice amount of cap room to rebuild around Frye and Davis.

Why would you want to rebuild around Davis, especially with McCants waiting in the wings?

lol, Minnesotta to rebuild around Ricky? Are you serious, that's laughable in all aspects, Ricky is not a franchise player, bravest is right. I don't even know about McCants, I think they'd have to wait for another draft to find a guy to build around, or FA'cy.

McCants is a guy who can come in to play right now; probably not the best for a long-term plan, as for that you'd probably want a guy a little younger. He might not be the best choice for a team to build around (I'd take Martell - away from Portland, that is), but he certainly is better than Ricky Davis...

How do you go from talking about Garnett to Francis? If KG is paired up with Starbury and Francis, there's bound to be championship talk somewhere in New York.
