Good luck with your decision either way Kicksdaddy. If you enjoy your basketball career then I'd stick with it. Football is brutal on the body, I'm not sure of the opportunity outweighs the downside of getting seriously injured. Powe's injuries will definitely be held against him. The same things were said about Danny Granger, but he looks pretty damn good this season. I think if there's a positive to come out of the injuries, Powe has recovered each time and continues to play at a high level. Morrison will not ask for a trade, I'm sure he would be honored to be selected #1 overall.

He's gifted all the way around, just a little bit under 6'9" but he plays like he's 7 foot. Powe is unstoppable, he even has a wicked behind the back dribble that he used on a fast break against Zona. People from the east coast say that were being biased, but you guys are sleeping when this guy is getting double-doubles against double teams, even triple teams sometimes

But when it comes to West Coast players being recognized nationally. There is always an East Coast biased directed towards those schools and it's players.

I'm tired of people saying that west coast player are not the real deal because they don't stay up till 12 to see them. It's ridiculous that people would ever say Boone is better than Powe, I've seen both, and Powe is better with no doubt. Powe is better than a former Pac-10 player, Ike Diogu, and I recall Ike was a lottery pick. Whoever gets Powe will get a really big golden nugget, and they deserve it for staying up past their bed time to do their Homework

Will he end up there, I think after some workouts, and he destroys people (which he will) people will be like, whoa, why the hell were we not on this guy all season. And that can be said for a lot of players out there. I honestly wish I could see more of UCLA, Arizona, Oregon, Cal, Washington. I get one game per week on FX. That's it. In the next year or so, guys like Gabe Pruitt, Jordan Farmar, Malik Hairston, are going to have to work twice as hard as they should come draft time, cuz they werent as well scouted as they should be. However, with UCLA getting back to it's dominant old self, Washington becoming a dominant program, and Arizona always being a Nat'nl power, scouts are going to once again have reason to head West. When UCLA fell off, and Stanford wallowed, and before Washington exploded, there was no reason to watch college basketball out there. (coming from a media and scouting standpoint) In the next few years, Stanford (the Lopez twins) UCLA, USC (Tim Floyd turning it around, possibly getting Devon Jefferson) Arizona (Chase Budinger), Washington (Spencer Hawes) the Pac 10 will start to get 5-6 teams in the Big Dance, and the West Coast will regain the pride and respect it once had.

You forgot Marcus Williams, should be in contention for Frosh of the year. Or what about Jon Brockman, Aaron Affalo, DeVon Hardin, Ramon Sessions (Nevada), and Juwann McClellan. Next year the east coast will be aware that the west does exist. I can guarantee that a western team will win it all
Nah, no homework my man, it's called my job. Basketball IS my job, which includes working out with a lot of players before the draft. Not only do I watch HOURS of tape and study players, I'm still playin too, so, one of these cats might make me unemployed someday....lol. Honestly though, if I named every draft worthy player out West, I could run a HUGE list. Another guy (who until hurt a lil bit back) that was being scouted was Rod Benson. His size and athleticism are there, but scouts would like im to add big time weight. Also, when he asserta himself on D, he forgets to play O and vise versa. If he could learn to play both, during the same game, he'd be a better prospect. In the next couple years, I mean we really could see guys coming out of the wood works like JP Prince, Josh Shipp, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Nick Young, Brandon Heath, Marcus Slaughter, Paul Millsap (La Tech, but conference is out West), Quinton Hosley, Julian Sensley, and Elijah Ingram (who I've played ball with in Jersey, and transfered from St. John's to New Mexico St. and will be suiting up next season. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Ramon Sessions (Nevada), </div> You know, after his Frosh season, putting up 9.0ppg and 5.2apg, I thought he was gonna be the next in line to come out of Nevada. However, this season he's dropped off hard, when he should be stepping up to combat the double teams Fazekas gets. Marcelus Kemp returning mightn have a little to do with it, however, Sessions should have even more looks. I mean he's really dropped off, down to 4.5ppg and 4.5 assists. Last season he shot 41% (not great) and 69% from the line. This season (35%fg, 59%ft) Thats horrible. And thats with Fazekas remember, I dont wanna know what's gonna happen next seasonif Fazekas enters the Draft. And only 0-3 from 3pt range???? That, as a scout, would really scare the hell out of me.

He's finally starting to be more like he was last year as of late. I remember seeing him against Georgia this year, he was clearly in pain but he still was out there giving it all he could, busting his balls, now if I was a scout, that's what would matter. Trust me, next year he'll step up
Even a Non-Duke fan as myself has to admit to that J.J.Redick is more than a horse player, more than a pretty good Duke player, he's more than a good college player, he's a very, very good basketball player and can easily play at the NBA level. He is or is going to be better than Glenn Rice or Michael Finley. He is not Trajan Langdon. The guy will be right there with Morrison or whomever for ROY. Teams passing on Redick had better make sure they selected a great player because by January, 2007 you don't want a 7'0'' guy you can't understand at the end of your bench while Redick is lighting you up for 25 points while playing pretty good error-free basketball.

Like, if he was on the Suns or Nuggets team he's worth nothing, but if he's on a team like Utah that don't depend on athletiscm, then he'll be ok IMO. As for 7'0" that can't speak english, they're rich enough to get translators

IMO he's a volume shooter and needs a lot of shots to find his rhythm. If you watch his games, you'll notice he can go 1 for 8 and then catch fire and hit his next 10 baskets in a row. A lot of people are trying to put him the category of just being a spot up shooter like Steve Kerr, Trajon Langdon etc. However, unlike those players, Redick creates his own offense, I think his offensive perimeter game is similar to a Reggie Miller or Ray Allen. Running players off of screens or just pulling up on his man. A slowed down halfcourt offense might prevent him from finding his shooting rhythm and will really limit his shot attempts. I see a long and successful career from Redick being the 6th man for a team. The offensive spark plug who can come off the bench and light up opposing second units.

Redick dominates because he can catch and shoot and run all day. As Chris Paul said, at Wake they didn't bother to guard him because his shot was money. If you fouled him he never missed.

He's lacking a little length, but I think he will be as feared as someone like Bryant, Redd, Allen or T-Mac coming off a highpost screen.
In now way shape or form will I comepare Redick to any of those players. He will NEVER be feared in any facet of the game like Kobe, Allen, or T-Mac. Shape you nailed it. He is a volume shooter. He was 0-6 at the start of last night's game against Florida St. Then, as he kept shooting, he was catching on, and wound up going into the half with 13. but that was on 12 shots. At one point he was just 10-27. Thats rediculous and would never fly in the NBA. He has learned to create his own shot, but he will not be able to get that shot off in the NBA. He can not beat people off the dribble, and unlike Morrison, his height (JJ is only 6-4) he wont be able to just pull up over a defender like he does in college. His defense is aweful and he doesnt impact the game in any way other than shooting. He doesnt rebound, he doesnt pass well, and when he tries to create, and then kick out, he throws the ball all over the court. I'll say he's more of a player than Kerr and Langdon. However he will never have the career Glen Rice and Michael Finley had. He wont drop 26ppg like Rice, and wont consistently hit 20,5,5 like Finley, and will never be the defender Mike was. This is a statment I will take to the bank. This is one I will save so I can bust it out come next season. The only way this kid has an impact, is as a specialist. A gunner off the bench. Or, in a system like Phoenix, where he can jack it up 30 times and he wont get pulled, and he'll have the green light all game long.
^^^^ He is listed as a F/C. At 6-11/6-10 (wait and see what his true measure is in Chicago this summer) he can play both. Either position, he needs to add weight, and I honestly think which ever spot he plays in the L is gonna depend on who is at the 4 or 5 on that respective team.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting KICKSDADDY613:</div><div class="quote_post">, When it comes to draft projecting, and who is looking at who, I'm the last person to disagree with. (remember, I know over a dozen scouts and get a lot of inside info right from the war rooms) </div> don't be so modest, god forbid someone has their own opinion
