"There was a good chance, you know?" Artest said. "I think this is good for me being in Sacramento, but on the other hand, me and Chris Mullin? That wouldn't have been a bad thing. It would have been a good story ... "It's not really a disappointment, but you think about things like that. You say, 'Wow, we had a chance to play.'"</div> Source
What if Ike turns out like Elton Brand? I wouldn't trade Ike for Artest if he's only a two year rental. Plus in two years, we can't even re-sign Artest. No cap money left because Mully blew it all.
Gotta disagree with you on this one. Ike is too timid to ever be Brandt... and with Artest this team would make a strong push for the playoffs. Not only that, but other players on the team's trade value would improve greatly by playing alongside Artest. I can already picture the team's defensive energy getting back to how they opened the season. If Aretest wants to leave after 2 years, then you move him next year or in the off season. Until the Warriors prove that they're a playoff team, no free agent will want to come here.

Unless you're playing the hunch that several had about Dunleavy when we initially drafted him i.e. (Too soft! Too pansy! To slow! Why oh why is he still starting??) Which pretty much has stayed the same for the last 4 years... but not as bad... since he doesn't get destroyed one-on-one, flop every time on the slightest bit of contact, go flying 50 feet from a small hip check. Besides we don't know if Ike would have been the deal breaker for sure. I mean Peja Stojakavic is an all-star. If I got J.O., I'm taking Peja. Who needs Ike and Dunleavy?
